absolutley not.
first of all self rising flour is all purpose flour w/ baking powder and baking soda in it. And you have no way of knowing the exact quantitities of those leavening agents, therefore you have no way of adjusting the recipe you are using to account for those quantities.
It is highly unlikely that you will get the amounts right and your cake will either be over risen or under risen.
Cake flour is a lower protein [softer] flour and will result in a more tender cake then using AP would.

yes....

To make cake flour out of regular flour:

2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Fill rest of cup with all purpose flour and sift 12 times.

Self raising is perfect for cakes. I think it is called cake flour too.

Yes,its only flour with some baking powder in it.

yes - but if your recipe calls for raising agents (baking powder or soda) you would have to reduce or eliminate it as the SR flour already has raising agents
