I am asking this because I think our children need a place where they can read and use the computers for school projects. I enjoy going there myself and it has helped me alot. I know it sounds weird but I think the children are the future. They will be smarter with some help of donations of books as well. I wanna donate books, tapes, CDs, DVD's, money, and some CD and tape players. If this sounds good let me know.

Wonderful!

It is fantastic that you not only have an idea of what you want the Library to be but that you are willing to be a part of it.

You can learn a lot more about their needs by volunteering.

I recommend starting by getting to know the head librarian and finding out the best way to help with whatever you feel strongest about. Or you could ask what their priorities are and if it fits with what you want to do, jump in.

You also will want to check and make sure that if you are donatiing items (machines, DVD's, or books) that the ones you would be buying will be useful to the Library. Some Libraries want to buy library copies of books which are bound better than the copies sold in the stores so that they will stand up to the extra wear that they get. If you have items already, they will probably take them and put them to use.

If there is a shortage of funds in the Library you might be able to work on their behalf to get others in your community involved. Often radio, TV, and newspapers will run communty service ads for free. (i.e. public service announcements). You could start a fund drive for a specific amount or to buy a certain item (i.e. CD players or computer) or you could start a book drive where people donate new or like new books, CDs and DVDs.

Another thing to look into is the library's policy on buying new books. We have belonged to libraries where the patrons could request certain books to be bought. These would be placed on the list to be ordered and when funds became available, they were purchased.

You are right, children are the future. Good for you for investing in them!

Your English is almost perfect, except for the ugly use of "wanna".

But, it was a good question.
