Let's see.... it's a site run by biased creationists...
That's kind of like saying "I can get really reliable information about homosexuality as it relates to psychology from a Catholic-run website" or "I can find really objective information on race-related issues from a white supremacists website".
It just doesn't work that way, kiddo.

Your statement is based on a falsehood. More and more scientists are NOT doing this, and the American Academy for the Advancement of Science has come out with a statement that evolution is a scientific fact. Further, intelligent design has been soundly refuted. Scientists can change their minds all they want, but reality remains reality. If God chose to use evolution to create the miracle that is humanity, who are we to question it? Darwin didn't get all of it right, but Darwin didn't know about DNA and lacked the scientific tools available to us today. Evolution is a fact, not a theory, and extinction proves evolution. Learn about DNA and genetics and what evolution REALLY means and you should also realize that it IS true.

Are you serious? Next thing I know they will be saying that gravity (another theory ) is a "lie". Sure, thousands of scientists over the years have amassed multitudes of data in an effort to "lie" to the general public. What would be the point? Scientists merely do the research, the facts which emerge are not their doing.
Evolution is as much of a fact as any other law of nature. It is in constant motion, there are many examples going on every day in the world around us.
Intelligent, thinking people realize that while there is undoubtedly a higher power but that does not negate scientific proof. You can hold on to your spiritual beliefs without abandoning reason or turning your back on information that has been proven time and time again.

I just went to the site you listed. Nowhere does it say they've abandoned Evolution and embraced a "higher power". It says They are skeptical of Darwin's theory and that "Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian Theory should be encouraged." That sounds like curious scientific minds. You should always be skeptical and examine evidence for yourself. The wording of your question is misleading, or else you hoped no one would actually check your claims...
It's not as though there are only two choices in life: Evolution vs. Magic man making everyone poof into existence. Having doubts about Darwin's particular theory does not mean you HAVE to believe in imaginary friends. And finding evidence against Evolution does not prove creationism or that a higher power was involved.

Didn't read the article.....but i truly don't really care if its true or not.
I agree is a highly likely possibility. But i think it freaks people out for no reason.
We can state mathematically how and why the moon goes around the earth and earth around the sun....and no one freaks out that its disproving god's existence.
A lot of things are explained and understood so we can make advanacements through science. Evolution is another part of science and understanding it is useful. Undersatnding how viruses mutate for example...
I think the largest problem about the issue is that people do'nt really even know whats goign on in evolution or what DNA really is....before they choose their side.
DNA is just a bunch of carbon atoms with an amino acid thrown on and in the right order they make you have eyes and muscles...ability to speak, think, etc.... and these are all just chemical reactions.
Now when we eat, we say we do it for energy....that is literally the energy released by the chemical bonds in what we eat as they are broken down.
That is what the first single cell organims taht we evolved from were (hope that made sense). They were just blobs conducting chemical reactions. THey had no self conciousness...desire to eat...Whatever they picked up, if it reacted inside them and gave htem energy...it worked.... all luck.
Eventually mess ups over billions of years lead to what we are today. But we still are jsut those chemical machines, but can think and feel...have a self conciousness...all that stuff
So i think thats the difference between us though.....A soul. This is why its ok to cut down a tree and not consider it murder. Trees are living, most non science people agree with that, and its doing what we are....just breaking down whatever comes in for energy.
My religion actually makes me believe in evolution more.
In my religion, I'm muslim.....it says god created adam in a process. It wasn't poof there's adam. It took hundreds or thousands of years...no number is given. Finally god gave adam a soul.
All though not hte official islamic view.....i think that was evolution.
It is plausible that we coudl've evolved from single cell organism to humans all purely by chance. But i think its very unlikely and something / someone had to push it in the right direction.

If it's true that nothing existed before God then God's word that created the universe was not actually a frequency of sound because there was nothing to carry it.And the 7 days could not have been one rotation of the Earth around it's axis since there was no Earth on the first day.So God's word is actually God's will and not an actual frequency of sound and 7 days for God could take millions of years for us.

Evolutionary science is about examining the evidence, and accepting and rejecting it, based upon its merit.
Every other branch of science has evidence which supports evolution, such as DNA analysis, chemistry, carbon dating, biology, genetics, botany, medical science, dentistry etc, etc, etc.
Creationism is about believing what other people are telling you, ignoring all evidence to the contrary, and using a philosophical, non-scientific book as a basis for science.
Science has never pretended to have all the answers, the role of scientists is to ask questions and find logical answers for them.
Creationism gives you an answer, and expects you to either accept it or reject it; molding solutions to fit into supposed gaps, no matter how illogical the fit.

Have you actually looked at it? They aren't saying evolution is a lie like you claim. They are saying they have questions about how evolution happens. That does NOT mean they think creationism is valid.
I've also found it quite odd that when I go to the staff lists for several of the universities mentioned, they say there is no-one with the same name as those on the list.

Evolution is true, scientists don't know what they're talking about when it comes to a higher power. Higher powers have everything to do with evolution, but there are more gods and goddesses than ONE. Anyone who thinks otherwise should study where the dinosaur fossils came from.

As of me its TRUE, my religion also has theory of evolution. Even before Darwin ( 17th century ), one of our religious literature written in 6th century has stated the evolution theory.

Read Icons of Evolution: Science or Myth by Jonathan Wells.
In this shocking book,Berkeley-educated doctor of biology Jonathan Wells lets you in on scientific discoveries you won't learn about from college and high school textbooks, and reveals a dirty little secret known only to some of his fellow biologists.
The best-known "icons" of evolution ,from pictures of apes evolving into humans,to comparisons of fish and human embryos,to moths on tree trunks, are false or misleading. For decades, biology students have been taught things that are simply untrue.
These "icons" of evolution appear even in the most recent textbooks, although the science literature is full of evidence that they are false. Apparently dogmatic promoters of Darwinian evolution fear that without these icons public faith in their claims will disappear,so they knowingly misinform our children and suppress scientific evidence.
Icons of Evolution is both an eye-opening tour of discoveries in contemporary biology and a stirring call for professional and educational honesty. It reveals that Darwinian evolution is a theory in crisis that distorts the truth to maintain its influence over science education. And it is a policeman's whistle ,calling upon scientists to clean house and rid their textbooks of lies.
Just to make it clear, Jonathan Wells is a postdoctoral biologist and holds PH.D.s from both Yale University and the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of several scientific associations and has been published widely in academic journals.
I just want to point out a few things Mr. Wells reveals in this book :
- How the textbook version of the origin of life assumes the exact opposite of what scientists now believe was the environment on the early Earth.
- How scientists have long known that drawings supposedly showing similarities between fish and human embryos were faked, yet continue to use them as evidence for evolution.
- How Darwin's theory of natural selection is illustrated with staged photographs showing moths on tree trunks where they don't actually rest.
- How the alleged role of mutations in evolution is illustrated with artificially-engineered fruit flies that show the opposite of what evolutionary theory requires.
- How horse evolution and pictures of apes evolving into humans are used to promote a materialistic philosophy that has no legitimate place in scientific classrooms.
Icons of Evolution is also essential reading for taxpayers who want to know how their hard-earned money is being used to indoctrinate children in a myth.
