.Chest pains? it sounds more like an anxiety attack to me. especially since the doc's say you are fine. Anxiety/panic attacks cause chest pains so try to calm down when it happens and try and get your breath. Anxiety chest pains are quite common. Stress Chest pains are also common. I suffer from anxiety attacks from the stresses of every day life. I take Lexapro for it. A friend uses Prozac. I live in a rural area so I get all of my prescription drugs online at a drugstore called SomaWatson.Net. They have everything you need! try it out, no prior prescription is required!

I am in the same position as you I was about 22 when chest pains started and I am talking horrible it felt like someone reached there hand inside my ribcage and was squeezing my heart. The pain also went all the way through my back as well.
I went to the emergency room several times, had about 15 EKG's. 2 Ultrasounds. everything was always normal.
They always mentioned Anxiety attacks to me but it didn't make sense to me since many times i was just watching tv or relaxing with no apparent stress factors to cause such an event.

It turns out they were correct it was anxiety attacks and I take Rivotril 2mg every time now which works within 15 minutes.
I am now 28 and have learned to identify an attack coming on way before it gets serious..But there is always a few a year I don't catch in time.

I still make a trip to the ER every now and then just because nomatter what they say it feels like I am having a heart attack and most of all i fear really having a heart attack and everyone around me shrugging it off.

If your extremely concerned you can get an electric blood pressure monitor for a100$ or less these days just to check yourself out when you have these symptoms. It will at least give you a little piece of mind and maybe even calm the anxiety from getting worse.

good luck

People at age 23 rarely have heart attacks. HOWEVER, rarely implies that it DOES happen. Treat it seriously and go to the ER immediately. One of the common myths is that you need to be some old person with a very plaque-filled artery to have a heart attack. This isn't true. Even a very small blockage (20-30%) of soft plaque can rupture, causing a MI-producing clot. Even if it's not a heart attack, you'll want to make sure that it's not pericarditis, myocarditis, some form of cardiomyopathy, or a variety of other heart conditions WHICH ARE EVEN SEEN IN CHILDREN. IOW, please, treat this seriously. At the hospital, they'll simply take a little blood, do an EKG, and a chest x-ray. All of that is painless, non-invasive testing that could save your life. Afterwards, either the ER doc or your regular doc should order what's called an ECHOcardiogram (not to be confused with an EKG). In that test, someone simply puts a little gel on your chest and uses a wand to do a sonogram of sorts of your heart. (If you've seen pictures of an ultrasound done on a pregnant woman, it's quite similar to that.) It's completely painless, non-invasive, and can tell them how well your heart is pumping, as well as whether there has been any damage. It's worth it.

Do you have anxiety or depression? Anxiety can cause palpitiations and a racing heartbeat, especially when you're in the midst of a panic attack.

Most times, when there is no organic evidence to support that there is something wrong, doctors tend to lean towards the idea that it could be an anxiety induced problem.

You're twenty. Unless there's a congenital heart defect that runs in your family, I would think that you would be more likely to need an antidepressant that will chill you out as opposed to heart medication. See your doc and ask about the possibility that it's anxiety.

Go see a cardiologist asap. The problem could be related to side effects from medication, drug use, alcohol, food allergies, anemia, heart murmur, overexertion or stress. Take note of when it happens and what occurred just prior. Could be something that's not your heart. Could be your lungs, your digestive system ( GERD or ulcer). See a specialist and check absolutely everything about your health. Find out if there is a family history of these symptoms. Call a gastroenterologist to confer if these are symptoms regarding your digestive tract. Hope you solve the mystery and feel better soon.

Have you had your blood pressure checked?...If its not that, you might have a blockage of the arteries or something...probably something that you don't want to let get worse...It would increase the risk of a heart attack...Either that or you might have like a kidney/bladder infection...
