I wolud like to do a plastic spherical/ torispherical dome for my project. As I need only 1 dome so I plan to do plastic molding but I don't know where to start? Can anybody tell me how to make it? thx!

try investment casting method. if it is a small project then take coconut shell or some sperical componpent pour the plastic into it and place another component on top of it to the required thickness. i think this should give u some idea!

A suggestion would be to vacuum form it.

Get a Styrofoam sphere at a crafts store, cut it in half and coat it with a thin epoxy - the kind used in boat building.

Then find a local business that does vacuum forming and get your part made.

I like Komatex or Komacel as a material for your application. It is thermoplastic (PVC material) and will pull nicely at about 275 °F.

Trim your part when finished, and voila! - you're done.

You may be able to find a pre-formed sphere which you could saw in half.

I had been thinking about giving one of the Gingery injection molding machines a try for a long time. I was hesitant to try because I didn't know how well it would work (I hadn't seen any of the machines online). I also didn't have a good method of creating molds for the machine. After I purchased my CNC milling machine (Sieg X3) I had a tool to produce molds of significant complexity to make it really interesting so I decided to give it a try
