First of all never use head in shoulders. The reason being while using it it feels like it is taking the dandruff away but as soon as you stop build up starts to happen again that is way you feel like you have to keep on using it. Go to your local salon and get a new Redken product it just came out for dandruff It is in a white bottle shampoo and conditioner after a day you will see a difference. It has worked very well for me.

Wash head more frequently with dandruff shampoo for a few weeks. Any of the popular brands of shampoo work good, if real bad start with Selsun Blue then continue with H & Shoulders to keep it under control. Depends too on how much hair we're talking about - a big "Mop" do or not too thick ??
If it's real big & "Moppy", I would get it cut FIRST... as short as you can stand without crying like Pauly Shore on In the Army Now. That way all the shampoo can get down to your scalp & start doing it's job without being washed away without even touching your bare head - You have to let your head / pores breathe up there now & then for anything to be effective.

Try a dandruff shampoo, head and shoulders, as well as try not to wear a lot of black or fling your head around till most of it is gone.
