Hi! Cancer is formed from injury. Smoking is one of the biggest things that injurs people... when people smoke continually, they hurt their lungs... as a result they get cancer.

People that tell you it is hereditory, forget to mention that there is no ABSOLUTE evidence that proves this, it's just theory - even though... many members in a family may get the same family, it is more likely that they have similar lifestyles... which is FAR more likely to cause cancer.

Cancer is a healing process that hasn't turned off... when we hurt our body... with strain, or whatever it might be, the body tries to heal it. Tropoblasts are released (which are cells that can make any type of tissue) and go to the site to begin repair. The problem with this healing mechanism is, it needs to TURN off... if it doesn't the healing process continues... and cancer forms.

The reason it doesn't turn off is due to pancratic enzymes not always available to stop them (due to them digesting diary and meats), as a result we get cancer.

Animals that eat diets in high amount of B17, dont have cancer. why? because B17, kills these extra cells. Although it has unfortunately been banned in America due to it's apparent toxicity... (apparently the cyanide in B17 is toxic) even though we're allowed to have Vitamin B12 which also contains cyanide?? hmm... interesting...
- it's probably improtant to let you know that B17 only releases cyanide at the site of cancer, due to an unlocking enzyme contained at the cancer. meanwhile... what isn't used is safely broken down by rhodase enzymes in the other cells of the body.

The cancer debate is very corrupt... due to the fact cancer is a multi-billion dollar a year industy....

The real answer is statistical. Why ?

Because cancer is caused when there is a mistake when DNA is replicated and, no matter what you do, there are ALWAYS mistakes when your cells replicate DNA (that's one BIG molecule !).

What are the causes of the mistakes ?

Well, high energy radiation, such as what we get from the sun, is known to damage DNA through ionization, and some chemical compounds, like PCBs, are known to have a bad interaction (which is called pi-stacking) with DNA... Some other harmful compounds are created just because we happen to need oxygen, a very reactive chemical, to live... There are even some cancers which are caused by viruses.

So you basically CAN'T keep these mistakes from happening. But living things have adapted to that and have mechanisms which help to repair DNA, or, failing that, mechanisms which will get rid of cells gone bad. One such mechanism is called 'apoptosis', also called cell-suicide. The immune system also helps in eliminating bad cells.

But there is always a chance that all these mechanims fail. This chance will be greater, for example, if your immune system is weakened (such as in AIDS patients), or if you are exposed to harmful chemicals, radiation or viruses.

Some food (some fruits and veggies, and some spices contains anti-oxidants, chemicals which help to neutralize harmful compounds which are produced when breathing oxygen. Those will also lower your risks of developping cancer. But, read me well, NOTHING will completely eliminate the risk. Don't listen to anybody who may pretend otherwise.

Cancer is a disease caused by normal cells changing so that they grow in an uncontrolled way. The uncontrolled growth causes a tumour to form. If not treated, the tumour can cause problems by invading normal tissues nearby or by causing pressure on other body structures. But as to WHY - truth is, nobody knows - though many people have a pet theory, often ill-informed. There is a proven link between smoking and lung cancer, and between sun exposure and skin cancer You can have a healthy lifestyle - eat organic, maintain a healthy weight, exercise, avoid additives etc - and still get cancer. As for it being a B17 deficiency - there is no such vitamin; the term was invented to give respectability and credibility to laetrile, a brand name for apricot kernels. There is not a shred of proof that laetrile helps to treat cancer in any way; in fact it is dangerous as it contains cyanide

Cancer forms when the cells do not have their "stop" codone or sequence. Each cell except reproductive cells (they are RNA cells) the DNA cells go through stages that tell the cell when to start replicating. This is making an exact copy of the cell. The cell grows, separates and then the first or rather original cell then "dies." The reason is logical in the fact that you can not have two exact cells or "things" occupying the same space at the same time, so the old cell dies. It is in the DNA coding. Now, what happens is that a cell is ready to replicate and it separates and goes throught all the phases BUT when it reaches the "stop and die" stage, it does not! There has been a mutation created and the cell does not die. So, this cell A without the "stop and die" code has replicated another cell with the same mutation as it is the exact same as cell A. Then the process is repeated and it continues on with each cell replicating the original cell without the "stop and die" stage. After a while then the cells become a tumor or mass that can be detected. Sometimes the growth forms a sort of coating around the mass and is like a round shape. These are self contained and sometimes can be removed by surgery. Some do not and the cells can "break" off and flow along within the blood stream and attach to other parts of the body. The cells then still go through the phases of replication and continue to grow and not "die." This is where the cancer has "metastasized."
As to what causes the mutation within the sequencing, no one knows for sure. There is nothing definate that can be said to be a "cause" of cancer. But there are many "things" that can aggrevate and "help" create a cellular change within the DNA structure. But again, no one knows "for sure."
I hope this helps as I tried to explain without using medical jargon that doctors use and no one understands (especially me).

I just read some of these answers and all of them are wrong. All but one says we "definitely get" cancer. This is the question, medical science has no idea as to where cancer definitely comes from. The asbestos one IE "it stabs the cell" how ridiculous. It irritates the cells, and starts a stimulated growth, that is abnormal and, then abnormal growth starts. This is from the asbestosis studies from the Duluth institute of technology studies in 1965 and later after asbestosis was found in miners in the Duluth Mn, area and then the mill workers that worked with asbestos's, I was one of them.

How cancer is formed is a mystery that is why we cannot cure it, only control it in some forms. It is in fact abnormal body cells that run amok and cannot, or are not, under control of the body regulatory system. Whether they are part of the hereditary system or part of the immune system gone amok we have no idea. It is a fact people with cancer have a better chance to get the disease than not but, there is no proof of this either.

Some food might be able to cause cancer. Basically, cancer is formed when a cell's reproductive abilities iis never turned off. Take asbestos, for example. If someone happens to breathe in asbestos particles, the particles "stab" the cells and stimulate their growth and reproducing features. This, in turn, also turns other cells to run on automatic, and a mass of tissue in the lungs starts to grow.

There are more than 100 types of cancers; any part of the body can be affected.
In 2005, 7.6 million people died of cancer - 13% of the 58 million deaths worldwide.
More than 70% of all cancer deaths occur in low and middle income countries.
Worldwide, the 5 most common types of cancer that kill men are (in order of frequency): lung, stomach, liver, colorectal and oesophagus
Worldwide, the 5 most common types of cancer that kill women are (in the order of frequency): breast, lung, stomach, colorectal and cervical
Tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of cancer in the world.
One fifth of all cancers worldwide are caused by a chronic infection, for example human papillomavirus (HPV) causes cervical cancer and hepatitis B virus (HBV) causes liver cancer.
A third of cancers could be cured if detected early and treated adequately.
All patients in need of pain relief could be helped if current knowledge about pain control and palliative care were applied.
40% of cancer could be prevented, mainly by not using tobacco, having a healthy diet, being physically active and preventing infections that may cause cancer.

Cancer has nothing to do with what you eat. It is What you Eat that Prevents cancer. Scientist and DNA technology have proved to us that "cancer" is hereditary, meaning that if cancer is in your family, you will have a High probability. So find out all you can about your family's medical history and eat good food. Don't smoke, drink in moderation and keep your body weight in proportion. Please don't pay any attention to the "stupid" answers your receiving. Go to Google and then check out the Mayo Clinic's web - you will find All the Correct answers there. Good Luck, and a very Merry Christmas.

State of mind. Negative feelings and emotions contribute to cancer big time! read about it. some people eat garbage smoke and drink and live to be 100. example supermans wife died of lung cancer in her 40's never smoke. george burns smoked and died at the age of 100.
