People often remove wedding rings for comfort or safety. Others may object to the idea of precious metals, or dislike the idea of declaring their legal status through jewelry. Either partner may also wear a wedding ring on a chain around the neck, thus conveying the socially equivalent message to wearing it on a finger.

Maybe she didn't feel comfortable giving you an explanation. Some people do not wear wedding rings for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's work related. Sometimes it's a comfort thing. And sometimes it's due to religious reasons. Some feel that even a wedding ring is jewelry & does not permit the wearing of one. Which I disagree with. It would save a lot of trouble, confusion & embarrassment. My mother was married about 35 years before I mamaged to get Dad to buy her a wedding ring; a very thing white gold band. She loved it & wore it proudly as times had changed since they'd wed.

I think that if she is wearing it around her neck, she is still supporting her commitement, but that maybe work or even a change in finger size is prohibiting it. I wouldn't think about it since I don't think that it even has to be a ring at all, you could pick something unique that is special to the both of you that symbolizes your love and commitement.

I wouldn’t say she’s looking for an affair.
If that was the reason, she'd keep her ring in her bag. Not around her neck.
There could be many reasons.
But why don’t you just ask her.
She could love her ring so much that she doesn’t want it to get scratched.
If she has a baby she could be scared she scratches the baby with it when she picks him up.
Her fingers could be swollen.
If she likes cooking a baking, she doesn’t want it to get dirty.
It might hinder her job.
There are endless possibilities that probably have nothing to do with unfaithfulness.
So just ask her

there are many different reasons. i can't wear my wedding ring in the summer because moisture from the humidity gets trapped underneath and causes a rash, so instead i wear it on a chain.

Several reasons why females may wear their ring on a chain. One may be that she is pregnant and her fingers swelled. Another may be her job requirements.

it could be Work-related...if she works in medical field, it's advisable not to wear any rings or fancy jewelries, this could cause infection. If she works in federal gov't like CIA or DEA...it's safer for her not to wear a ring. Or she could be "looking" for "lover" on the side..if she's really married. Make sure it's a wedding ring that she has on her neck first.

Might be in the interest of circulation. I might do that myself when my fiance and I get married, because I had to get my class ring cut off because it got so tight.
