my earlobes are really itchy where the earrings are. i thought it was the cheap earrings causing an allergic reaction so i soaked them in hot water with dettol. no such luck. why are they so itchy?

I think you are on the right track when you say cheap earrings. and soaking in Dettol wouldnt do a thing for that. Try leaving the offending ones off, and see if the problem goes away. To help., you could try swabbing the ears with metholated spirits, (not in the ear, but the holes for the rings)Also if you have changed your hair products, ie; shampoo, conditioner, hair color, spray, etc, someting there could have caused the irritation. My daughter in law can only use genuine gold or silver in her ears for the same reason you quoted. Best of luck.

Ya sme metals like nickel or copper can cause allergic rxns.
Dnt put on those cheap earrings again.
I think u shud go 2 doc. 2 know d xact reason.
Dnt expriment with ur ears urself.

Soaking cheap earrings will not help. Invest in one good pair of gold earrings and wear them all the time until your ears heal.
