If I understand correctly...he wants to get more serious with you but isn't sure of where you stand with him. Just be honest with him. If you see yourself with him forever then take that step and commit yourself - I'm not saying you have to say 'yes, lets have kids right now' but just commit yourself to him and to the relationship. If you don't feel like you want to be with him forever, then let him know. He'll either say, thank you and goodbye or he'll say well let's take it slowly then and see where we end up.
