Mental

I guess it would depend on the type and component of the pain.

Pain can be divided as follows:

1. Event pain
2. Healing pain
3. Scar pain

Event pain, such as breaking a leg, might not actually be all that painful, but event pain when breaking up with a Girlfriend/Boyfriend could be severe and very painful.

Healing pain in the physical is usually much more painful than the event, but healing pain in the mental is usually less, but can be very prolonged.

Scar pain in the physical is usually little to known, by mental scar pain can last forever.

Soo... in my opinion: Mental pain is worse.

Usually the pain experience is a combo of the two...but I have found some simple techniques to calm my anxieties and fears (the mental pain) when my body is hurting. It really does wonders for making the physical pain seem much less intense. So if had to choose to be able to control one or the other, I would choose the mental side.

One night, I was on my way to a friend's house. I was very excited to visit her after being not able to see her for a long time. I was about to cross an alley when suddenly a cat crossed my way. I got a scratch on my knee out of that accident. The scar already faded but the memory of what happened back then and how it made me feel is still with me. Physical pain's just like a scar, it heals and fades away with time but mental pain's like a nightmare came to life for it resounds beyond memory.

They are equally bad. If you have ever experienced excruciating physical pain, it is about all you can think of. You don't even have any self-pity because you're in too much pain to really think. Strong mental pain can lead to depression, self-inflicted injuries, and suicide. Either way, pain is not your friend.

well one could see it like this mental bcuz it stays with you for a long time and can make physical pain. like a hart thing or something.
or one could see it as in if it mental the person could later wish for a way out and go to drugs or cutting or even killing themself. matters how far into it you get.

I would go with mental pain. Your body will regenerate it self where as your mind stores images for life. These images in turn cause constant pain when thought about...
