Whatever laid the egg was not considered a chicken, but had a mutated chromosome. The mutant that hatched out of the egg had more mutants, and they became known as a chickens.

So, the egg came first. The complete organism starts at the fertilized egg.

Hello! This is way too easy. Of course the chicken came first if the rooster got to her. But then maybe the rooster did because they are fast. Have you ever seen a rooster jump a chicken. They're on them and in a second they're off. Then the chicken just shacks herself and walks away. Like she had just said that was way too fast for me. So I will have to say the rooster came first. The egg isn't even there yet. It's still inside the chicken. Probably wondering what just hit me.

The chicken came first as it evolved from a single celled organism into a chicken that could then replicate it's self through reproduction and so came the egg.

A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face.
The egg, looking a bit pi$$ed off, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and
says, "Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question!"

The egg!
Whatever laid the egg was very close to the chicken genetically.
It was the last of its kind.

The chicken inside the egg was the new product in evolutions chain.
