I believe that my third molars are coming in, the teeth have already broken the surface but im only having pain or the left side of my mouth. Theres some gum pain and small amount of tooth pain associated with small bouts of nausea. YES I NEED TO SEE A DENTIST WHICH I WILL BUT ITS 334am HERE. Should I take some asperin to numb the pain? What about an ice cube to numb the pain? Im at work so I dont have alot of options. Basiclly Im looking for anything to kill the pain for the next 4 hours till I get off of work. Serious inquiries only please

Wow this just happened to me while I was at work too.

I realized that when they actually hurt is when the teeth are moving down. Even though the tooth broke the gums in most places there might still be a spot where it hasnt so that could be it too.

What I did was take a small piece of paper and chew it up (kind of like a spitball) and then stick it back there under the tooth so I could bite down on it. I know the paper idea sounds kind of weird but it felt so much better.

You can also get a paper towel from the bathroom and wet it then stick it in the freezer and bite down on that.

Biting down on ice will of course numb it up for a little bit and taking a painkiller wont hurt either. Try an Acetaminophen or an Ibuprofen with some caffine in it if you have it because it will provide quick relief!

Feel Better!

Ibuprofen has always worked best for tooth pain for me, but you don't want to take too much, too often. How long before you have insurance? A lot of dentists will make payment arrangements with you, if you have a means to pay. Are you working at all? Could your parents or family help you? Sorry, I know how miserable tooth pain can be.

There's not alot you can do. Asprin is great and will reduce any inflamattion. Ice may work or make it worse. I'd try the aspirin and if it still hurts hold some cubes in a bag against your cheek, not directly in your mouth to test that out.

Hope you feel better soon that's an awful feeling.

If there is gum swelling and thats whats causing the pain, then asprin is an anti inflamatory, I used Migrane strength Excedrine but dont take that on an empty stomach. If you are not limited to what you can get try clove oil it tastes gross but takes away the pain immediately or you can try oragel.

Aspirin is good, if you can get some oil of clove even better sometimes you can even put the aspirin on the gum where the tooth is erupting.

baby teething gel is great too

let an aspirin dissolve on the painful area . ice can help but might be uncomfortable too. if you have moouthwash available use it. not much else can be done . make sure you have something mild in your stomach if you take aspirin.

Try taking two tablets of paracetamol to ease the pain... If you can, you need to sleep it off.. excuse yourself from work for a while...
