make her an iMemoryBook. Invite everyone to write a fun memory. Let iMemoryBook publish you a hardbound copy when you are finished and give it to your mom. I know there was a lady that turned 100 here in SLC Utah and she was in the new for her birthday. They talked about how she had a 300 page iMemoryBook chuck full of memories from all the people that she influenced in her life. I have made several iMemoryBooks, they don't take long and there isn't a better gift.
We did one for my Grandma, who is in her 80's earlier this year for her Birthday. She LOVED it. Because it is online, all of the family came and wrote something and within about 3 days we had a 50 page book.
Hope this helps

Well, you must be a pretty special son to want to do something special for your mom. Here are a few ideas: 1) I had a friend who bought 80 small birthday cards (you will have to really shop to find inexpensive ones) and had 80 different people sign them and send them. Many paid for their own stamps. 2) The hardest thing for any of us to give is our time. Make her a coupon book for things like trips to church with YOU, coupons for dinner with YOU(that will help you spread out the expense over time), special jobs around the house, etc. You know her best so incorporate the things that she talks about. 3) Find a pictures of the two of you together at different ages and frame them for her. Bottom line, like I said above, you must be pretty special to be thinking about making her day memorable.

A huge bunch of her favorite flowers and some European chocolates (Swiss, Belgian or French) always do wonders with women it seems...
Is she still lucid?
You could always buy her a hardback book from her favorite author or a CD or even a DVD that you know she will love!
Some DVD box sets go for about $50 I think!
Good luck & Happy Birthday to your mom!!!
80 years old huh? Wow...

Why dont you make her a photo board of her life?
You can buy cheap frames that are large, pick out some beautiful photos of her life & the people she loves & make a collage? I did this for my mum's 50th, she has it up on her wall to look at. Its an inexpensive gift that means so much....
Wish her a happy birthday for me!
:O)
