.... well not too desperate, but getting there.
I'm fine right now, feeling pretty good... But this is all just sugar coating on the real me. I do well at being positive and sorta happy, but i'm a lonely 20 year old college student (living at home). I got no close friends, i've never been on a date or anything cuz i'm so shy. Whenever i start thinking about all this for a long time, i get depressed.... What to do besides "just changing how I am"?????? I need a different method.

Well, you're a college student, so you're already in a great social setting, a good place to meet people. Is there any girl that you've seen around before-- in your classes or just around campus--that has ever caught your eye? Gather up your courage to go talk to her and find out what her name is, let her know who you are.

You don't have to ask her out on a date right away-- that might actually scare her (or at least, I would be a little intimidated). But just find ways to keep seeing her, unless she makes it clear that she doesn't want any contact. But if you find a girl who's willing to be open to friendship, then take up on it and see where it leads. You have to get over being shy, you're not going to get anywhere if you're too afraid to take a chance.

ok wake up dude what can you do besides changing yourself? You know the answer to that , nothing. If you want change then you must be willing to change and adapt as well. Basically you need to try harder or make an effort to talk to people more, make friends. Just be yourself and youll have no problem. You may start with people who have similar interests as you, or have a class you have, this way you have something in common to talk about. It will become easier and everything will work out . But be proud of who you are and speak up. compliment someone or a girl on something , anything really , itwill break the ice. Just say hello , ask a question. You cant meet friends or girls living in a shell.

Join some college clubs and meet people.

The thing shy people havent caught onto yet (shy people worry too much about making a fool of themselves or sounding stupid) is that everyone else sounds stupid and doesnt mind at all about making fools of themselves. No one will notice if you do so speak up and have fun. Just do it, you got nothing to lose.

Shy guy- If you are not ready then it's not your time. My husband was a virgin when we married cause he never came out of his shell till me. If you meet the right girl then you'll know when it's the right time. Don't settle. There are more important things in life then sex. Your only 20! Get out there in the world and put your feet in some water!!!!!

Get out. Find guys with skills and start building your peer-group.

Most guys that understand women feel a responsibility to pass the knowledge on--find one.
