What would cause someone in just a matter of days develope a very large bald spot? A perfectly healthy woman (doesn't fit any of the normal criteria for hair loss) Discovers a 2 inch by 2 inch circle of baldness. This wasn't there just days before when a hair cut was given. Nothing was used on the hair during the cut. We know it isnt related. The hair cut was done by a neice at her own home. This has us all baffled. Nothing about diet has changed. The only thing she did that would be abnormal was take a full bottle of the recalled generic tylenol. Everything shows that wasn't or isn't the cause. HELP!? Please provide any wesites. We have searched and searched and she has been tested. We feel that (maybe) a link to the recall since that is the only change. Advice anyone????

Knowing the entire history...there has been no baldness but thinning. This happened in only two days and it isnt thin, it is gone. The area mentioned is slick and even shiney. ???

The bottle wasn't taken at once. It was taken over a period of time. It was a bottle that had been recalled because of metal. She had no idea they had recalled it.

Simply put... genetic. This happens in my family. Somewhere in your family history a male or female could have developed baldness out of nowhere and it was just passed down through the family genetically. It may not hit everyone along the family line, however if you are the person to have the trait, don't give up because there are things that you can do. There are hair creams that can help the spot and possibly prevent further baldness. One that I heard works really good is from a woman who makes her products from home. Visit her website.... carolsdaughter.com... I saw it on the Tyra Banks show and not only that but if you can make it from home.. you know exactly what is going into your hair. Also if you're african american... visit websites that have treatments that are especially good for our hair. I hope you get some great information and the hair you want back. Good luck!!

First I'm concerned why someone who is perfectly healthy would take full bottle of Tylenol. Your liver and kidney's have to process all of that. But you don't mention over what period of time this was so I'm not sure if it was a day, a week, a couple of months. My best guess is hair loss could be a result of taking the Tylenol over a short period of time overwhelming your body because it was not able to metabolize of all it..simple. The same theory of stress making your hair come out or you creating acne on your skin, for example. How you treat your body on the inside shows on the outside.

Secondly I suggest you contact a physician for medical advice rather than do a self-diagnosis. There may be something that is overlooked. I'm particularly concerned why the balding is just in one spot. It could be the beginning of something serious or something mild that can be remedied with small dietary changes.

In the meantime there are a line of produts called "Organic Root Stimulator" that specialize in products for hair thining and loss. Check it out at :http://www.organicrootstimulator.com/

A FULL BOTTLE OF TYLENOL? Take her to an emergency room NOW... her liver has turned into jelly. If she is not seen by a doctor, she could die as the cumulative effect of her liver failure adds up. The hair is just the start.

Tylenol is toxic in large doses. It destroys your liver. Look it up on the web.
