I'm gonna say no on this one, depends on your local area and how the water treatment system works. A better idea is to invest in a dog toilet that you can bury in your garden and it comes with a liquid that breaks the waste down in a safe way.
All of the goodness from your dogs poo goes back into the ground as nature intended but the liquid speeds up the process.

I'm not sure if its a good idea or not. I suppose it depends on the size of your dog. I have 2 Old English Sheepdogs so I wouldn't do it. I keep an old large flower pot beside my bin and throw the picked up mess in there, when its bin day I empty all the poo bags into a carrier bag and put it in the bin.

Are you asking if it's safe for the plumbing and all that? Yes. Poop is poop. Just use toilet paper to wipe the stuff up and flush it rather than paper towels, which can plug the works.

We send our dog's poop out with the weekly garbage. I don't think our plumbing would take to having large amounts of the stuff, as our 100 lb. dog has usually 3 in a 24 hr. period.

I used to, but apparently no its not.
The parasites in all dog mess can't be dealt with by our water system.
Put it in a plastic bag, tie the top, and put it in the wheelie bin according to the water company.

That depends on the dog. Poodle or Peke yes it wont hurt. I have Saints, I wouldn't do it. Plus regardless of what kind of dog it is don't use paper towels. They will clog your system.

Your water board will say - DON"T DO THAT!!
Our water treatment systems do not destroy some of the parasites in dog poo so it is not safe to flush it down the loo.
