in the future, try taking a legal amphetamine. it will give you some energy and really get you focused, almost excited about doing your work, believe it or not.

caffeine is not the best. when it wears off you will be left with a headache and feel really whiped out. try going for a quick run or do some jumping jacks. exercise will increase blood flow to all your body parts, including you brain. it will give you more energy for at least 2 hours.

when you get overwhelmed or have been at your work for too long, take a 10 min break to watch tv or something. you can "refocus" and come back feeling somewhat refreshed.

are you in college? if not, learn NOW how to skim. look at the first sentence in a paragraph. that's usually the whole idea of the paragraph. check the middle of the paragraph and read the last sentence to get an idea of what the whole paragraph said. if it seems really important, then quickly read the whole thing.

if its a literature book, use spark or cliffs notes to outline what's most important to focus on in your book. i'm skimming a history book right now and writing a final paper on it.

coffee, duh'

put your book on the table, then position a knife inbetween you and the book, pointy end up, that way, you won't doze off, cuase you'll stab yourself+die, ether way, your problems are solved!

of course, there's Red Bull... I won't even bother to tell you how long it takes for it to actually werk though, soy ou better go grab some now

what else I do... hmm... play black metal music fairly loud, Metallica and Iron Maiden, and Dimmu Borgir, etc.

open the window, turn on the fan, and get nekkid... it'll be too friggin cold ot og to sleep

and... change of place... get away from the bed... go to Denny's, do something.

if you have a naturally insomniac friend, tell him or her ot call you every hour until they go to sleep.

oh, and think aobut how terrible it would be to have to drop out of college because you couldn't stay awake for 5 hours.

PS: pace it out, lets say 5 minutes a page, then there's 100 pages, that's 500 minutes, or, 8.3 hours... actually, that's pretty terrible, lets say 2.5 minutes per page and you'll get to go to sleep in 4 hours... good luck

PS: I'm not saying you should... but if oyu're desperate, 2 excedrin=1 cup coffee, don't od and die though, if you die, die from the knife thing, that way, you died an honorable death of studying till you dropped.

You don't read all 100 pages.
Go over the table of contents and figure out what's the most important to read, and focus on that.
Sit next to a table, and make sure it's not dimly lit. Get up and stretch every time you're feeling drowsy.

NoDoze pills. Or go to the bathroom and wash your face with REALLY COLD WATER! Then just jump up and down and start moving all your body crazily. Then repeat the cold water on face. I'm a college student, FINALS ARE HERE...and that's how I stay awake. It works :-)
