Antarctica isn't the center of the earth, it's the bottom. And yes it's cold. But the center of the earth is hot. You don't want to go.

How long does it take to travel to the center of the earth? No one knows - hasn't been done.
Yes it's very cold. In fact if you were standing in direct sunlight it would be around 50 degrees F. Step into the shade and it drops about 30 degrees. BRRRRRR.
