the blatant stupidity of believers is dumb-founding isn't it?

Yes, he could tell the difference. However, those who had the blood of the lamb on the doorpost were passed-over (passover for the Jewish holiday) The blood of the lamb is symbolized by Jesus Christ, whos coming was foretold. If they did not, then the pestulence would enter and kill the first born of the families. This was brought on by the Pharoah of Egypt and when he refused to do as Moses had asked and had the first born of each Jewish family slaughtered, he, by disobeying God brought forth the angel of death. (Watch The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston as Moses. That movie is right out of the bible...Exodus)

God doesn't just go loving, or saving the downtrodden willy nilly - that is a myth. In fact, if an Egyptian prince had sheeps blood on his door, he too would have got a seat on the bus to the middle of nowhere. God's only real pleasure in that activity was in seeing the slaughter of so many sheep for no purpose whatsoever. It was a common theme at the time.

God and his angel needed no sign.

The blood was for the reassurance of the Hebrew slaves, and a sure sign for the oppressing Egyptians as well.

It was also God's way of placing a prophetic "marker" into the oral tradition, and later scripture, pointing to the future sacrifice of Jesus, the Lamb of God, who would, by the shedding of his own blood, eternally fulfill the Passover and free all those who were trapped in slavery to Satan, sin, and death.

Its a picture of Christ's atoning blood if he sees the blood he pass by because the price has already been paid. The Lamb is the Body of Christ broken for you sin. you eat as much as you need, but be warned when the passover is done what remains of the lamb Christ's sacrifice (the only thing that can save a human soul (He wouldn't be sacrificed again see: Hebrews & Revilation-"Behold I am Alive forevermore".) shall be detroyed and the door will then be forever closed to those that would be saved. The old Testament is full of these pictures of Christ : Joseph in Egypt, Issac(Jesus) as the Son of Abraham (God) ect. Hope you get saved before its to late.

It was not so much the blood that stopped him, but the obedience of the Hebrews and others that also believed. That Passover was a representation of the Messiah, and the blood that He was going to spill for those who would obey God. That blood saves us from the second death. Do you know why Jesus is called the Lamb of God? Did you also know that He was born on the Passover and that He also died on the Passover?

The Angel of Death has a fetish for sheep's blood. The Angel of Death is oblivious to the obvious?

I feel that God was too harsh and should have just sent the Angel of Nausea.

It was a type of Jesus. The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Blood is the price for sin. When you accept Christs sacrifice on the cross your sins are covered by His blood.

The wages of sin is death (Holy Bible). This showed that the household had made a sin sacrifice, and were covered by the sacrifice, thus their rightful punishment of death, would be passed over.

Just like Jesus is the last sacrifice, He died on the Passover, so that we can be "passed over" and escape our rightful judgment and guilt.

So that the Egyptians could also see it, and know, at the end of that night, what went on was not of man, but of God.

It was God's requirement. God seems to be symbolic in nature and the blood on the doors is a foreshadowing of Jesus spilled blood that would save us.
