Even if you crack the egg into a bowl, the yolk may explode in the microwave. Instead of attempting to boil it in the microwave, poach the egg by bringing water to a rolling boil in the microwave, then cracking the egg into the water and waiting a few minutes for it to cook. Or scramble the egg, then microwave it, stirring it a few times in the process.

This site features a device used to boil eggs in the microwave.

Doing anything else will result in a disaster and a kitchen smelling like rotten eggs with nothing to show for it. Boiled eggs only take $15 on the stove. You can't really be that busy.

If you mean like hard boiling, you are s.o.l., because a contained capsule (i.e., an egg in it's shell) + microwave waves = a huge nasty mess. You can poach one though, by cracking an egg into a dish of water, and microwaving it on high for about 2:30.

Get a bowl fill it with water, place egg still in shell in the bowl, then zap it through the microwave for 3 - 4 mins. Nice soft boiled egg if it don't explode in the bowl first.

Try taking a sewing needle and poking a small hole in the narrower end of the shell.
Not sure this will work, but I was a bachelor once, and it's worth a try methinks!

You can't. Sorry but you'll need to actually use the stove for this one.
