I was living as a live-in house cleaner for a married couple, i was there for 2 weeks, yesterday i came home (it was a Sunday and i wanted a day off) and they had filled my bedroom with rubbish from the house, they told me they wanted me to see what i was supposed to clean up that day, i was so pissed off coz i had done more than enough work during the week but they didn't want me to have 1 day off, so today when they were at work, i packed all my belongings in to my car and threw rubbish in their room and food on their bed, then i left. I was so mad that they couldn’t talk to me as adults, instead they trashed my room, plus they were nudist (they were in their 50’s and fat) and they had no doors in the house, no bedroom doors, not bathroom, nothing (except for the front and back door), so if you were in my position, would you do the same thing??

Wow this is an interesting question.
I have been talking to the wife about having live-in help. We keep blowing it off but it would be nice to have a break once in a while.
These people seem very odd and inconsiderate. Any action by you would be acceptable. You could have handled it differently but it's really about what you want out of it. Looks to me like it wasn't worth more effort than you gave.
I know I would have treated you much better than that. We have a 6 year old daughter and with our work and my college ther's not much time to clean, of course I believe in being good to people and taking the time to still help out and not taking advantage of someone. oo bad you dont live near here. lol.

To your last addition, technically you were getting paid ..you just weren't trading paper for labor.
No I don't think you were wrong! It seems that if you were really doing your job...they had no right to toss all of their stuff into your room. Now I can't say that tossing food onto their bed was a good move BUT I am sure you were simply acting out of anger. Being angry and not acting out on our impulses is what separated a child from an adult. I think you did the right thing as far as moving and I would say time to move on!
Sometimes when things seem to good to be true..they probably are.
Good Luck and yes you do deserve a day off....if they were unhappy with the work you did they should have came to you like mature adults.

Wow. Well, they were definitely rude. And I never would have put up with that situation for a minute. However, you can never excuse rudeness as repayment for someone else's rudeness. Your actions crossed the line - although I competely understand *wanting* to do it, we can't always react the way we want to and there are always better ways to handle things. You could have left, and written a letter telling them exactly why. You could have not cleaned up the mess they left for you. You could have told any other housecleaners (if you know any) to avoid them like the plague.
By the way: did you, by chance, get permission for your day off? If you just took off without any advanced notice, then they had a right to be upset. You were their employee after all, and if the arrangement was to work Sundays, then that's what you were obligated to do. Oh well it's over now, best of luck with your next job!

My dear wild decision is not good. If I were you, I would have called them and let them know that I was not satisfied about their decision.I know that it need a lot of patience to do what I am saying but when you have the fear of God in you, God will give you the courage to do so.Please if you things to work well with you, call these people and apologies. I am not saying that you should go back there. I just want that you should try and make peace with those people. Look at their ages and look at yours. You should know that one day you will have their age, would you like to be treated as they are treating you? I think no.
Ok God bless you as you do so. I am available for more counciling.

you did the right thing by quitting and leaving, as the conditions were not good for you.
However, it is better not to do something negative in order to get back at them or take revenge, as this is never good.
In the end all actions will be judged, so let God do the judging of these people.
It doesnt help you in any way when you take revenge. Just let the anger pass and it will go away, and you can get on with your life, and things will get better, without having to go through revenge.

No. I wouldn't do the same thing. You shouldn't have paid them back with the same coin. That only proves that you're just like them. You did well to leave the house, but If I were you I'd have left a letter explaining my reasons. Better look for work somewhere else now.
good luck

I would have cleaned up the place first, then left a note saying that I was resigning effective immediately due to a lack of days off and their rude and immature behavior, and peaced out. Trashing their already nasty house was rude, and just because they were rude to you doesn't mean you have to be rude too.

PURE DISRESPECT!!! Not getting paid just a free house to live in?????? When my sister and I were young we had a live in maid and I think my mom paid her at least $500 a week. A live in maid makes a lot more than rent for a bedroom.
THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL.
Sounds like you were abused and being taken advantage of BIG TIME by pure trash!!! F * *K THEM!

I would feel as you did. However, I would not have trashed their place even though I feel you were justified. Why? Because you might damage you reputation for getting other jobs and they might feel vindictive also and reach out to cause you trouble.
