I think it's because it's so easy to talk a child into doing something. An adult might not lend you money because they think it's a bad idea, but you can often easily coerce or otherwise convince a child to give you some.

China didn't "pay" for the Bush tax cuts. All a tax cut does is leave money in the hands of those that make it. Why didn't the democrats pass even the modest spending cuts called for? Now you want to use China as an excuse? Doesn't play.

I don't know if this counts as a moral reason - but when you are far enough along in life to have children that are old enough to borrow money from - then you should be close to retirement and have plenty of savings - where has all of your money gone - you should be giving to your children (even though they are grown) not taking

Because as parents you are to provide for the children, not borrow from them. Plus you are the parent with a job that is actually of age to earn money. Go out there and do so!

Do you mean borrow? Probably because children are regarded as being more easily influenced and have no means of earning that money back, legally. Besides why borrow money from children go straight to the place from which they acquired that money!

I didn't know it was wrong to borrow from children! I'd also like to know why it's considered wrong.

Any money given to a child is theirs to keep forever, period. Children are not supposed to provide for adults under any circumstances - it's the other way around. It's also wrong because you're not allowing them to learn the valuable lessons that come with money at that age - they are supposed to learn how good it feels to earn money and save up for something that they want. If they have to give their money to you, you are setting them up for financial failure as adults. How can they learn responsibility if the adults in their life are not responsible?

Usually we give money for childrens to cultivate their saving habit. If we spoil their savings it is not good.
