If you're focusing on the number killed, you're focusing on the wrong thing. Pick any battle in WWI or WWII and there were thousands or tens of thousands killed and we won those wars because people stood behind the military and behind the government and didn't make partisan attacks for purely political reasons.
In wars people get killed. Each and every one is a tragedy, but to use their deaths for personal gain is abominable. The facts are that people get killed everyday, even in the U.S.
The numbers you should be more focused on are the hundreds of thousands U.S. troops (all services) that return home. What are you doing for them?

The icasualties.org [11] website reports the death toll since the invasion in March 2003 as being 2,927 American lives (as of December 9th, 2006).
