Are you the one in the household that feeds her? If yes, cats (and dogs) will always hold a 'preference' to those with the food!

Research has shown that the one that first feeds an animal (i.e from birth, or in a new surroundings i.e the day you braught her home from the shelter), the animal will immediately be drawn to that person. So, i would guess you may have been that person?

Hope this helps!

Perhaps she is around you more or is just more comfortable around you or she just feels like she knows you better. It also depends on how you treat her vs. how your girlfriend treats her; maybe you treat her more closely to how she wants to be treated. It might be that she follows you around and sits with you because she wants you to pet her. Sometimes a cat will just do things for no apparent reason, they have their own minds, personalities, habits, behaviors, etc. You should just treat your cat well and continue to do so.

I dont really know the answer to this. Cats just are like people, they just bond with some people better than others. It could be for no reason at all, it also could depend on other things. Like do you spend more time with the cat, feed her, spoil her and play with her more than your girlfriend.

I know my three cats like my girlfriend better than me because she spoils them with treats and lets them get away with murder around the house.

my cat is definately a " Daddy's Girl " .....and i do not know why as i am the one who feeds her most of the time, but Daddy has a bigger more comfortable lap than i do. and he is more on the calm side where as i am kind of hyper so maybe that is why she seems to be more attached to him than me.

because this cat has nobody else to turn to. Your girlfriend has a lot of exposure outside and can have her choices.

cats are one person animals. and they are usually attracted to the one person in the house that doesn't want anything to do with then.
