Wearing seat belts is important.

1. It is the law (depending on which US state you live, and no tickets given if you wear one)

2. It saves lives (it is a safety feature, keeping the occupant from being ejected to the windshield in the event of the accident, like an anchor)

3. It reduces injuries in the event of the accident (those who use the seat belt, and accident happens, has less injuries, than the person who is not wearing a seat belt)
Example, whiplash injury (no broken bones)
