Put a password on your PC.
Creating A Log On Password For Windows XP
Go into your Control Panel by first clicking on the Start Button.
Then click on the Control Panel icon located in the right column of the Start Menu.
If your Start Menu is set to the Classic View, then begin by clicking on the Start Button.
Then click on Settings, then click on the Control Panel icon to open up the Control Panel.
Now, Double click on the User Accounts icon to open up the User Accounts window.
Then click on the User Account that you want to create a password for.
Then click on the Create a password link on the left side of the screen.
Windows will ask you to Type a new password and also ask you to confirm it.
Type your Password in both areas and then you can also type in a password hint as well.
Now click on the Create Password button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
Windows will then ask you if want to make your files and folders private.
You can decide according to the provided information and then click on your choice.
Your password will be saved and you will need to enter it the next time you start your system.
Now close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel window to return back to your session.

1. If you already have windows password then try the following steps to lock your Desktop.
a. Close all the running programs.
b. Go to Desktop empty space
c. RIGHT Click and go to "Properties"
d. Go to "Screen saver" Tab
e. Specify period of time for ex. 5 minutes in the "Wait" Option
f. "Tick " in the On resume, Password Protect option
g. Click "OK"
h. Return to windows.
i. Restart your computer.
2. If you don't have windows password, then try the follwing to open a windows password.
a. Click "START" button
b. Go to "Setting\Control Panel\User Accounts
c. Open one Account and give password.
d. Do the First Option (a to i) as mentioend above.
thats all. your problem will be solved. If you leave your computer idle for five minutes (specify time as per your convenience) automatically screensaver password will work. if you want to open, you have to enter password.

Ki-wick make pretty good locks ...You can get a little piece of chain to wrap around it from the hardware store ..Then cover it with a large cone shape object. Drape a sheet over that ...No one will be able to store any files on your desk top any more .... : )

01. To lock your computer, you need to press {Ctrl+Alt+Del} keys together.
02. To unlock it you will have to press the same keys and enter your password.

in XP, you can create another user for them and put it under ordrinary user or restricted user (limited user), and also (as a admin) you can set the limit size for the folders or previlage
