Remember, Christ did not come to change the Old Testament laws.... but to fulfill them.... He only dotted the Is... and the crossed the Ts..... But, he didn't cause them to be removed.....
I still believe the Sabbath stands.... The apostles still held it even after Christ's resurrection......
There is a Scripture whereby it is written: Do not let any judge you according to a Sabbath or new moon...etc.....
That Scripture did not change the laws.... it only meant.... just as Christ was, considered by the pharisees, working on the sabbath... to not let any tell you what not do to if it is out of necessity..... Do what must be done.... even if that necessity occurs on the sabbath.......
The pharisees considered unwashed hands a sin.... So, when a man sits to eat... no man can say, do not eat with unwashed hands..... If it must be done... then do what must be done.....
So, is the New Testament law.... That which must be.....
Your sister,
Ginger

Yes, that is sad that a lot of Christians believe that way. I don't though. With the exception of the "Holy Days". The very instant Jesus died on the cross the curtain that separated the area for sacrifices and the rest of the Temple was torn down the middle. That meant that the Jewish laws and celebratory days and sacrifices were done away with. People so often misunderstand that.
Anyway, obeyance of God's commandments is difficult for the best of Christians, because Satan is constantly bombarding us with temptation. He doesn't want us to follow His laws. Anything but that. That's not a excuse for not even trying to obey the Lord though. God is worth the Sacrifice for obeying Him and it's the whole Bible, not just the Old Testament that He wishes for us to learn from. imo and the Bible.

First, let's get something straight, Jesus observed the 613 Commandments because Jesus was a Jew, a rabbi, and the Jewish Messiah. Jesus administer solely to the Jews,
Jesus asked his followers to teach all nation, not to convert them to Judaism. In fact, the observance of the commandments separates Christians from the Jews.
Here is the restriction given to Christians: 1 Cor 10:23-24.
Before you can teach, you have to learn, and from this question, you need to take some time and study the New Testament (Covenant).

Hello daddies girl.
Most Christians today are part of a religious organization which tell them how they are to worship God. They give the people no input in how the church is run or in its politics.
Jesus Christ told us all in the Bible that He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it. Not one jot or tiddle is to be changed.
As for special days that God has told us to observe, this we do. The highest celebrating day for all Christians is Passover not Easter.
Jesus Christ became our Passover when He was sacrificed on the cross.
Let me tell you something. Many years ago I accepted Jesus Christ an and repented of all my sins. I made a life change and started following in Jesus's footsteps. It has become very easy for me to not get into sin and break God's Law. In other words, its hard to sin.

God is certainly worth our Respect and Worship, not to mention Thanksgiving. But a serious study of NT epistles will show that 9 of the 10 commandments are reinstated for the Christian. No 4 is specifically ommitted. Romans 7;4.
Basically the commandment of Jesus is to Love God and love one another.
I Cr 13;8a

You are correct, but we are all sinners. There is no way anyone in the world keeps all of the commandments, and that is why Jesus died for us, so that our sins will be forgiven. Even our thoughts are heard by God, and can make us sin in thought. I try very hard to do what is right and yes, God and His Son are first in my life, however, I still admit that I sin, but not on purpose. My thoughts get to me at times, and just living in todays society can be sin enough. I am a born again Christian and I know I am judged by grace. This means I do not go out and deliberately commit sins, but I do stumble at times, with words and thoughts. This is my biggest downfall.

Those who do not think it possible to keep/do the 10 commandments are the very ones who try to teach others that it can not be done, in that way they think they have an excuse not to keep them. Jesus said that if we love Him we will keep His commandments, and He reiterated each and every one of them in the first four gospels. The fourth commandment can be found in Mat 12:8 and Mark 2:27,28.

I am a Christian and I don't know what you mean by not observing parts of the Old Testament. A lot of it was written for the Jewish people to observe rituals to keep them clean, and to sacrifice certain animals. It is no longer needful to sacrifice animals because the life of Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Can you give some examples of what we are not observing? I respectfully want to know. God bess you.

You are right in saying" its not easy , but worth it all." I often think of how wonderful it will be to behold the presence of Christ. I think about this time of year ,and wonder and how hard it was for Mary and Joesph to make the sacrifice? I am so thankful for the obedience in a young couple who brought our LORD JESUS into this world. I hope we all can obey his call on our life. I pray for all Christians to stand strong in these uncertain times.

Jesus instructed us in this manner "Love God with all of your heart, mind and soul and your neighbor as yourself". This He said is the summary of the law. We do not follow the Jewish rules of the OT. And the 10 commandments are summed up in the words of Jesus above.
