Dairy Products usually spoils so fast...so keeping it out of fridge is kind a risk....it wont be a problem if u forgot it for one night, but that if the expiration date is not soon.

I left a package of cream cheese overnight on accident. I went ahead and used it - no worries. If it's sealed, it's no big deal. If it's open, you'll probably want to chill after a few hours.
On the butter - I think it can sit out for quite a while. The bigger concern is attracting bugs. We don't refrigerate the butter we're using, we just keep it on the counter in a butter-bell. It was invented in the 1600's - it's awesome. You just change the water every few days and you can keep butter un-refrigerated for 30 days.

Butter can left out un-refrigorated for a while if covered. But cream cheese should only br left out about 3 hours max. The temp. will have raised enough to where bacteria can begin to grow.

Depends on the room temperature. But you really are gambling every time you do it. It's a better bet to leave it in the fridge, and when you need to soften it, put it in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time until it is the right softness -- and only nuke what you are going to use!
