I've heard that this is a habit that comes from being taken away from their mothers too early, though I have nothing but anecdotal evidence to back it up. All of the most loving cats I've known do this--the cats that had sufficient mom time seem to be more independant and annoyed with the humans interfering with their big cat plans.

LOL...I think you're stuck with her little habit. All cats get this from when they were kittens and keep it. Basically this is how she progressed with her kneading.

You should, however, be a little pleased. She drools because she is very content and happy. When cats 'plow' they are doing something that is very calming to them and this is making her go over the top! My cat likes to keep her claws out when she kneads so feel better you don't have that happening! :)

I raised a kitten who I had into her old age ... she was kept outside at night. In the Am she was allowed in. She'd come into my bedroom before I was up, jump up & proceed to 'suckle' my earlobe, while kneading my neckarea with her claws. My Mom always wanted to know why my neck was all read ... It actually hurt, but I was so glad to have her & she seemed to like it so much, that I let her continue. I don't remember drooling to have been a part of the 'routine', though. I also don't recall now, when or why she stopped ...I suppose she grew out of it after a year or so. That was when I was a kid myself. I've always enjoyed animals of all kinds. My cats have always done the kneading part but not the drooling. My guess is, the cat is just relaxing. Maybe she's drooling because she's happy to be near you?

lol ... OK, do me a favor? Please don't tell anyone ... I'll be sitting there watching TV, all sacked out on the sofa and a certain cat (of the four in the house) will jump up on me. As you can imagine, 4 cats jumping up all the time, I tend not to notice who it is and give minimal attention. So anyways. all of a sudden I'll notice this one cat is kneading me, not on the leg like others do but directly on the breast. Not a cool thing. Mind you, I get her off asap, but apparently not fast enough since she persists in this habit. Sometimes I wake up to her doing it there ... not cool. Anyway, all I can say for your situation is BE VERY GLAD your cat has not taken up with this sport in a different place. It can be very embarassing if naother person sees it going on. My mom still can't get over the sight, she laughs too hard when she sees the cat jump up on me.

my kitten does the same thing.. and i was told he was 6 weeks old when we got him and when i got home and looked at him more carefully (i'm a vet tech) i noticed that he couldnt be much more than 4 weeks old because he still barely had his teeth.. i had to bottle feed him and do everything a mommy cat would.. he does the same thing.. why? because he was taken from his mom too soon.. he is now 4 1/2 months old.. he LOVES this one really soft blanket.. so what we did was put that blanket into his bed and let him have it.. look for something that your kitten can use as his own.. its a perfectly natural thing for them to do.. it is an emotional reaction however it is completely alright.. and come on.. its adorable isnt it??

All 5 of my cats do the same thing. The drooling only happens half the time and sometimes they drool if I scratch their ears and they are relaxed. There's no way to stop it.

lmao, my cat does that too. She does it when i'm petting her and suddenly she's drooling. It's like they're saying, "Oh god yes this is so good x_x..." Probably nothing you can do about her drooling unless you just toss her off the bed and keep her out of your room at night! Or get a blanket that she hates.

she is reliving old habits from when she was feeding from her mother. that is what they do to stimulate milk from the teat. my cat used to do the same thing, and i don't think that there is a way to make the drooling stop. it is instinctive.

your kitty is " making Biscuits " it is an instinctive behavior they have from when they were baby kittens......they used to do that to stimulate mama's milk from her breast so that they can feed.
and she is just loving you, so love her back and when she gets a little older she will grow out of this little habit of hers.
