I think it is version of psychological hypnosis. If they were getting healed of cancer, great. But they just flop around. I see nothing godly about that.

I have just one suggestion. The Holy Spirit doesn't make people flopp all over the floor unless they've been possessed. And only then is there the argument between good and evil...in other words, when the Holy Spirit is called on the body can go through turmoil. But in general??? ...no...that is way too wrong. I've had the ability to pray in tongues for years...but I assure you, I don't flip-flop all over the place. My prayer is serious.
If you would love to see serious love of God, and something beautiful go to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19dODYayec8&NR
and watch the 'lady sing' Alabaster Box in front of thousands of Christians. This is the true way people are when they believe. That other girl was a real weirdo.

Ok, then if you are quickly deleting this question I am only able to give you a quick answer. The difficulty arises because of this thing we call love, it causes a split within us and with those around us as we are willing to accept the so-called 'good' within them, but not what we anticipate is the bad or negative so the whole unified person can never be revealed or accepted. When we are not complete, or whole in ourselves there is very little possibility that we are able to help others on other than a very superficial level, because as the negativity begins to surface it will trigger us as well and then KBOOOOOMMMM and relationships such as a marriage or committed partnership are ideal for this to happen, so respond to every situation as truly to yourself as you possibly can and with as much awareness as you are able; remain quiet with awareness in those times where it is neccessary to do so and concentrate on your own spiritual development, because only when you are centred in yourself can you be truly free from the entanglements of others. Be Well xx

That is NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you were to look in the Bible you would find that when the apostles received the Holy Spirit, nothing of this sort happened.
If you have problems with Christianity, make your argument against His Word - not against some nut who says "I'm a Christian" and then does the funky chicken while screaming like a lunatic.

He doesn't. Thats not the Holy Spirit. His job is to convict the souls of men and guide them through life. I haven't a clue as to what those folks are doing. But I do know this, those denominations seem to be obsessed with this practice and are very scary people. They are also preoccupied with signs and wonders. The Bible warns "An evil and adulteress generation seeketh after signs". I personally believe that its demonically influenced.

He doesnt. When you see behavior like that, it's not the Holy Spirit. The Bible warns against acting all crazy in church in 1 Cor 12, 13, 14, and 15.
God is not the God of disorder but the God of peace.

the holy spirit doesn't, the person does.
if someone believes somthing strong enough, there mind can create any sensation to cause them to act anyway.
just like a person who fears greatly , spiders, and they close there eye's, then someone say s to them "you have holy spiders now crawling on you"
they will feel it and freak out.
One filled completely with the Holy spirit, will be more calm and quiet then the most still , silent and peacefull picture in the world.

He does not make you do that. If you do not understand it nor any one else under stand, that spirit is not of God. That goes for any thing not just what you have a question about . Like what good would it do if someone could speak in tongues but no one could understand them? That spirit would not be of God for God has a purpose for all he does.

that is not the effect of the holy spirit....
it is the effect of "spirits"
liquid spirits
too many liquid spirits
or
too few brain cells
or
theatrics draws a bigger audience than someone quietly contemplating spiritual things....
or
infantile beliefs necessitate infantile behavior
or
doing what is expected to show their [supposed] devotion
or
the snake handlers couldn't make it
or
who knows ????
go by an elementary school/dog kennel/hospital "mental" ward
at least those there have actions that makes sense

The Holy Spirit can touch many points of deep need in a person's life. Some people act out such in order to gain attention, to be sure, but others are having inner demons/hurts/hopes touched.
Pschos - guys who paint their body and stand 1/2 naked in front of a football came. A culture that degrades women through open pornography. A culture that fills landfills w/ stuff our grandchildren will need to mine. A government that pays tobacco farmers.
