she stays in the garage and her leash is connected to a stick like thing. She's learned to take the loop end of the leash and throw it up the stick. She's obsessed with this "new discovery" and now when i come downstairs in the morning, she's "off" of her leash thingy and ruined everything. I heard this is from her poodle side - she's too smart and mischevious - anyone have this happen to them - why is she doing this and what do i do?

Most dogs will try and figure out a way to escape when they are bored. The easiest thing would be to buy a pet carrier (crate) and keep her in that at night. There is no way for her to escape and you won't have to worry about her getting into anything.
