Perhaps he is not emotionally ready for that particular step yet.

I suggest patience.

Your eagerness can make him feel pressured and smothered. He may run away even though he actually cares for you.

Having a key does not mean you have a better relationship. Focus on what you can do to be a better friend to him. Find ways to be nice to him and support him. That will be much more important in the long run than possession of a key to his apartment.

I understand the desire for the key though, you want a validation that the relationship is progressing. Just try to be patient, and if it is meant to be, it will come.

Good luck!

I think that he maybe hiding something because why else do you think that he won't give you a key? I think that its cute that you want to surprise him he would probably like it!!! Just be cautious no one likes bad things to happen... tell him u think he might be up to something and then he should give you a key to show that hes not hiding anything. this is the first time i have answered a question so sry if i didn't help you.. but i think you deserve a key!

Well since he just moved in he probably want to get the feel of living by himself before giving you access to the apartment. He is probably not hiding anything from you but just want his space before you move in. When you start packing to move in May then you will get a key and everything will be the way you anticipated.

Because if he gave you a key, than you maybe the one in for a surprise, he has to sore his oaks and do all the thing he want to do before you move in.

Look on the bright side. He probably want to surprise you with the decoration he had made especially for you. In this case you should trust him. I bet he going to surprise you. Good Luck.

It's HIS place, not yours AND his at this moment. He has a proprietary interest in it, and doesn't want it changed around from the way he has it. There's a comfort level there for him.
You'd be best off to have discussions about changes/no changes once you move in....
Good luck.

A man likes his personal space. And they don't even like girlfriends touching their valuable things or going though their place without them knowing.I doubt he is hiding something from u, I just think he wants his own space for a while without someone interfering.

if he hasn't given you a key yet he's still not ready for the "us" thing give it some time and see if it pans out.
