I've been liking this guy ever since school started. We've become really good friends. The thing is i shouldn't like him. I mean yea hes good looking, smart, funny, and tall but hes also self absorbed, a major flirt, cocky, and hangs out with these older girls all the time. And sometimes its seems like hes really feeling me, but other times its like hes avoiding me. I dont want to be thinking about him all the time like i do now so how can i stop liking him?

sweetheart, it sounds like he doesn't even deserve your time. he sounds like the kind of guy who would just end up breaking your heart. and he's stuck on himself. one of the best ways to get yourself over him is to get interested in someone else. look for a guy who deserves your attention, and will always be happy to see you and talk to you, and shows you respect.
when you see this guy with these older girls, and he's acting all cocky and arrogant, just try to picture him standing in front of a mirror in his moms underwear, blowing kisses at himself!! do that every time you see him acting like he's all that, and I promise you'll start getting over him fast!
just remember, you deserve a better guy than him.
Best Wishes With Everything

I think your answer is more about your confidence level. School is a time to discover the opposite sex. Yes this means you can learn from him. It sounds like he is a very confident guy and confidence is a beaming quality that most people are attracted to, however that doesn't mean he is worthy of your time. If he is a good friend then just slow down and appreciate the time you spend with him. You need to become confident and show him that although you enjoy spending time with him, he is not the only guy in the world. If he has any feelings for you that are more than just a "friend" level, it will eventually show. You may not ever stop liking him but I can guarantee that your future will present a guy that you will fall in love with and at that time, you will look back and wonder why you ever stopped looking forward. Good Luck girl!

All the reasons are right in front of you just open your eyes and you'll see. I promise you that. But you should really think about staying friends with him because it makes no sense to end a friendship for feeling extra for someone. Think that you should tell him as it is as well. Tell him how you feel before you turn your back and the next thing is that you read to much or too little into his behaiour. Stand up for what you want and if he is one of your priority then make sure to accomplish this goal.

Every time you see him, say in your head - god he's pathetic, he's a womanizer, I don't want him because he probably has a STD, he's a walking case of herpes

You're going to have to brainwash yourself here and attach negative feelings to how you feel when you see him. It really will work, give it some time.

You can't help how you feel, but if you get a bad vibe from him that should be enough to steer you away from him. Trust your gut.
