Satan presented himself with the sons of God Job 2:1,2;
The angels as morning stars or sons of God Job 38:4-7 Saw earth prepared for man.
Angels are vast in number Rev.5:11 [ Jesus could have had 72,000 Matt.26:53 ];
Satan and bad angels and holy angels do not die Luke 20:34-36;
Satan called Lucifer means day star and compares world leaders to him Isa.14:12-14;
Satan is the god of this world that comes to and end from Eden to Rev.20:1-6,12,13;
2Cor.4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Cor.11:14 Satan transforms himself into and angel of light.
1Pet.5:8 Satan is an adversary, as a roaring lion, seeking to devour.

Because it's scary to believe that all the evil that you do comes from within yourself and not an outside agitator.

Because the idea of the Devil was grafted on to the Gods of the Pagans and Heathens to make the demonizing of their beliefs easier.

It's like the idea that gets floated around that only people like Evil Arabs would blow up people to demonize Islam.

There is no Satan in the Torah, which is where the OT comes from.

We are warned in Scripture to watch out for him.
1 Peter 5:8-9 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring loin looking for someone to devour. Resist him standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throught the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

They must believe in the devil if they are o believe in the story of Jesus. The only ones beside atheist who don't believe in the devil are the Satanists.

Let us say that you are a Christer and don't believe in Satan. nThen you are saying that you don't believe that Jesus was tempted for 40 days in the wilderness, by Satan, like the bible says. That means that you do not believe the Bible, Do you see where this leads.

Christians believe there is a beast (devil) because the Scriptures say that Satan was the fallen angel.....he was jealous and therefore cast out....Christians believe the word of God being the Bible also known as faith. Hope this answers your question.

Satan is certainly smarter than some! If he can have people believing that he doesn't exist he is a lot smarter than them as he can more easily manipulate them. For a really good description of Satan read Ezekiel Ch.28 V.13-19
