well depends on how you as a person handles every day life and when things happen not to your liking. this is key and time. one could dwell for a yr with a bruised ego or unsettled answers and self doubt and hurt etc some get back on the horse as soon as they fall off and heal quicker. it is best to go out be with friends keep busy.,if you go home and lay on the bed and cry over it it will be longer. it is not good.in some cases it never is over but you still have to go on thru the motions called life..:-( it will get easier. time. i heard same things once. you can get mad if you want to turn it all around and say to yourself what a liar she how can she hurt you like that forget her but it is not in you. just keep busy

Time heals all wounds. The 'time' here for you would depend on how well / fast you accept the fact and consequences that the relationship is over and how well / fast you shift you focus towards doing something more positive or productive or committing. Get a hobby, go out with more people, spend more time doing something which you love doing or wanted to do in the past when you had no time.

1-5 years. Break-ups suck, especially when your in a very strong loving relationship and the two of you do and share everything together.

But, STAY BUSY!-with work, hang out with friends, go to the movies, whatever just to get your mind off of it. As time goes on everything will later start to pass.

Believe me we have all been through this. So hang in there.

Good Luck to Ya!!!

It takes time. Sometimes it takes more time and sometimes less time. I'm going through something like that, except he emailed me and told me to f#^k off and that I'm nothing but a b*tch to him. It was a pretty brutal email and I cried alot. I'm slowly getting better and so will you. For awhile it didn't feel like I was going to get better. I felt like the whole world was going to end and that my life was going to end with it. I wanted to go after him and all that, but I had to keep stopping myself. It gets better with time. I just wish that time would come faster, and I can probably say you might feel that same way. Go talk to your friends, family, co-workers. You'll be amazed at what kind of support they can offer you.

It's impossible to know. You may just wake up one morning and feel like it's finally behind you, or you may never fully get over her. All you can do right now is keep yourself happy and give yourself a chance to heal.
