Your already taking things in the right direction. You might also try using a small ice pack just on the swollen area. This can also help in reducing the swelling. Also when your sleeping try to lay on your back or the opposite side that is affected. Because gravity works, not in our favor sometimes.

There are two things you can do that will be of great help.
Although both are considered 'folk' remedies, I can assure you they 'will' work.
Possibly your lip has become swollen because when you sqeezed it you irritated the membrane of the boil and caused inflammation.
It's also possible that the boil burst on the inside instead of puss
coming out when you squeezed it.The first thing to do is bath your lip with hot salt water for about 5 mins.
While doing this place a chamomile tea bag in hot water to soak.
When you are finished bathing your lip, place the tea bag on your lip, lay back and relax for fifteen mins.
Repeat this every 3 to 4 hours.
One of two things will happen.
Either the boil will come to a head and burst, (if it hasn't already).
Or it will soon begin to heal.
Salt is a natural anti-infective and chamomile has natural anti-
biotic properties as well as being anti-inflammatory .
This will help if you can stand the hot water.
