i have a 10 week old kitten.. he was toilet trained (with his kitty litter) when i got him,
and he adjusted really well when we bought him home. he used the kitty litter straight away here... but the last week or so he has been urinating in the corner on the lino of my lounge room.. no where else, just in that one spot.... im not sure why tho.. ive sprayed some citrus spray there (apparently cats hate citrus) and ive sprinkled curry powder there hoping he would not like the smell and stay away..and ive scrubbed it with bleach heaps so it would probly stink of bleach... but hes still doing it!!! anyone please help.. its driving me crazy!!!!!

Your new little fur ball is going where he smells the leftover residue from another animal, probably a cat. The best thing to do is get another litter pan and put it in the area where he is going, after you've thoroughly cleaned the area (NOT with bleach! Never mix ammonia and bleach, it's caustic, and urine is.......ammonia based!) Believe it or not, I've used a citrus cleaner, orange clean I think it's called, full strength on the area, rinsed well, and repeated. Straight lemon juice works well also, as does WHITE vinegar. The trick is to rinse well, and DRY the area each time. When you think it's been cleaned well, put some lemon, orange or grapefruit peel in the corner on top of newspaper. Then put the new litter pan in that area for awhile. You have to keep a cats litter pan clean, scoop it as much as three times a day. Have you changed brands of litter lately? Perhaps he's trying to tell you something.
If he once again resumes his nasty habit in the corner, put him in a kennel with a clean litter pan when you are not home, as soon as you do get home, play with him and fuss over him, even give him one small treat when he uses his litter pan, he'll get the idea!
Hope this help, hang in there!

Put the litter box in the corner after you have thoroughly cleaned up the area. Leave it there for about a month. Slowly move it after that about a foot a day, trying to get back into the desired spot for the litter box.

He's so young he is operating on smell right now. In a month, he will be 1/10 older and a whole month of "I smell a litter box" trained.

Good luck -- it's a tough road when they start doing that, but this will work. I have 4 cats but have had 10 in my lifetime. One little female did this but this trick (which came from a website) worked for her.

Could be behavioral, however a more serious note it could be a urinary tract infection which should be checked out right away. If it progresses, it could lead to a kidney infection then failure (death).

Has anything changed in the house? New people? New smells? Is the kitty nervous or agitated or picked on?

If it is behavioral (after you take him to the vet to be checked for infection), you can pick up some feline spray that will keep him away from that area (it has special chemicals that will work).

borrow some 'doggy poo' and place there in the corner. the cat will realize it's occupied territory and will find another spot to go pee. try putting a litter box somewhere else in the room and slowly move the litter pan day by day to the spot you want the cat to go to. Peace. Or close the door to that room.

Try put the litter tray in the corner

or this may sound cruel but put his head near it (never in it that is cruel) so he can smell it

or get him neutered when he is of age because tom cats will mark out his territory alot like dogs do

It might be that a cat has sprayed there before. There are deodorizing cleaners at the pet store that could rid that corner of the odor. Also, get him or her fixed as soon as possible spaying/neutering can really help.

you could try putting the litter box right there, I have never heard of anything like that though. Sorry I can't come up with anything original

You might be using litter he doesn't like or the box isn't clean enough. He could also have a urinary tract infection. One of my cats used to go where they weren't supposed to when they had one.
