Every school and even every teacher has different expectations and methods. Teachers are also many times are forced to give more or less homework then they would like based on pressures from parents and administrators. I think it is unwise to pressure a teacher to change his or her methods including the amount of and kind of homework. If a teacher gives work on weekends, then it is hopefully for a good reason. We can let the students just relax and take it easy, but then are we really doing them a service? Do we want to produce intelligent, competitive citizens or a generation of burger flippers.

If you can read this answer, thank a teacher! lol

Get it done on Friday, so you have the weekend free.

Teachers are required to cram a lot of learning into the school year. One way of meeting the requirement is to assign homework.

because education doesn't stop when the school doors close for the day. It doesn't hurt them one bit.
