If you have parted why should you care what he says about you. You should not live up to anyone expectations as everyone is unique in its own way.

What wrong with being the "girl next door type". Stars such as Reese Witherspoon, Hilary Duff and etc has been named as the girl next door type. I think it has to do with their bubbly personality, if he cant see this then its his lost.

Cheer up and take care.

That isn't a bad thing. A girl next door, is a relaxed, can talk to girl. He feels comfy talking to you. Which is a great part in building a goof friendship or relationship.

I would take it as a compliment. Now lets hope he likes the "girl next door type" and is not into the sleazy kind.

Neither, it's just how he views you. I would imagine he meant it in a nice way.
