The PPK is only in 380 caliber. Which is a short 9mm.

The P99 come in 9mm and 40S&W. Both of which are more powerful than the 380.

To answer your orig. question. The P99 is more powerful.

A Desert Eagle isn't necessarily better. It is relative. The Desert Eagle is a big pistol, that can be chambered in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, 440 Corbon or 50AE. It comes with either a 6 in. or 10 in. barrel. It is basically a semi-automatic hand cannon. From your question not worth looking at. The same company makes a Baby Eagle which might be closer to what you are looking for.
The PPK I believe is chambered in 7.65x17mm Auto or 9x17mm (.380 ACP) . The P99 is a .40 S&W, might also be in 9mm. The .40 caliber is the most pop out of the guns you are asking about. The 9mm is the second best. So the P99 would be the most powerful of the guns you are asking about.

Wow, so far Nancy has been right on the money.

The Walters PPK (and variants) is chambered for the .380acp, .32acp and at one time even for some smaller rounds like the .25acp. It is a modern design of 'pocket pistol' made for a small caliber round and has been around since before WWII. It is double-action on the first shot, has a loaded chamber indicator, etc.

The Walthers P99 is a 'modern' semi-automatic pistol chambered for the full-sized .9mm Luger round. The P99 is 'more powerful.'

If memory serves me correctly, Magnum Research manufactures the Desert Eagle line of automatic pistols. They are behemoth handguns chambered for really large pistol rounds. Their line begins with the .357 Magnum (revolver) load and is available through .50 Caliber Action Express and possibly even larger than that, 'research' is on-going.

Grain is a measure commonly used for bullet weight. 7000 grains to 1 pound is the conversion if you wish to do some comparisons. Grams are also used in some instances. Caliber is the primary consideration in determining the energy/momentum or "power" generated by a firearm.

The Desert Eagle is produced by Magnum Research/Israeli Military Industries with hunting in mind. It is available in .357 Magnum, .44 Remington Magnum, .440 Cor-Bon and .50 Action Express. The .440 Cor-Bon obtains the highest velocity of these, while the .50 AE has the heaviest slugs. The .44 RemMag is likely the most practical. It is a gas operated pistol and you cannot use soft lead slugs without clogging the gas ports and impairing the pistols function. It requires a firm wrist to function correctly and is highly susceptible to "limp writing". At about one dollar every time you squeeze the trigger, it is hardly a cost effective target pistol though it is reasonably accurate. That price is the more popular .50 AE and .440 Cor-Bon. IMI/MR also produces a Baby Eagle, which is a less expensive and more practical pistol chambered in several common calibers (9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP).

Chambered in.....???
A PPK and P99 both chambered in 9MM would be very similar in power....so you could eaisly say that a handgun is as powerful as the round you shoot out of it.

...but on the flip side....The PPK is not considered a full size pistol, I consider it to be 3/4 full size. It has commonly been used as a backup and does well at serving this purpose. On the other hand...the P99 is considered to be a primary pistol and is a full sized pistol. With this full size you also get a choice of larger calibers of ammunition. So, briefly considering the lack of varibles in this question......You never talked ammo, so I'll assume that you plan on throwing the weapon at your target, since the P99 is a larger pistol, I'd say the P99 is the answer to your question.

p99 is more "powerful" it is chambered in 9mm as compared to the ppk's 7.65mm (ballistically similar to .380)

The Desert Eagle (chambered in .50 cal, .44 mag, .357 mag and the Baby Eagle in .45acp) dwarfs the p99 and the ppk in both power and physical size.

nancy probably went to the walther site so dont give her to much kuddos for concealment i carry the 380 with some corbons. Gives me full 9 mm power but then again if i hit you in the head it really wont matter if it was a 380 9 mil or even a 22.

Don't know anything about the Walther's but the Desert Eagle is an OK pistol. I wouldn't recommend it for the price tag, I know I bought one...then sold it. It's a Iran company and it comes in either a 45acp or 50cal. And I think 357. It constantly stove pipes.

I don't know about Walther so I would suggest looking at both rounds and the number of grains that each one has.

If one is bigger but has less grain, then they would tend to be equal. If one is bigger with substantial more grainage, then that would be the winner.
