never grew up in a spiritual household. Actually, I didn't grow up in a house at all; it was a methlab. Kind of strange that a child could grow up in the conditions I grew up and still learn from friends of their religions and still believe they could be true. So for years I kept faith, kept pushing through.

The abuse got worse. My life has been threatened by my own father, for doing nothing but trying to help my mother, who is not much better herself.

At 15, I developed stage V cystic acne (affects roughly 1 in 10,000 during their adolescense) over 80% of my face. For nearly three years I walked around with hard crust over my face. No one would even look at me, if they did it was in laughter or disguist.

At 18, I developed clinical depression. For two years I was so close to the brink of suicide it took everything I had to fight it off. My body was eating itself away.

I asked for help so many times, no help ever came. Does your God only help those who grow up privilaged?

Monetary suffering is one thing, but physical, emotional, and psychological abuse change a person forever? Let me tell you, I’ve lived through both, and there is no comparison. Those who have people who truly love them are the luckiest people in this world.

You are comparing easing the pain of clinical depression to winning the lottery? I guess you lost me.

2006-12-10 16:34:20 · update #2

Actually, that is exactly what I am implying. I almost certainly did live a worse childhood than you. It boils down to that. Did you ever struggle for you life from your own parents? Be shunned by society?

So God says no to easing the pain of clinical depression, no to stopping my parents drugged up rage. This is just too much....

The concept, "Who is God" clears all ambiguities about God Almighty-

Who is God?

God Almighty... a cluster of pure energy is but the sum total of all souls (atmans) in the cosmos at a given point of time. The essence of every soul (atman) being the same as God Almighty... every soul is but a minuscule God in its entity.

The moment the big bang occurs... all souls (atmans) existing in the Cosmos spread all over the cosmos with unimaginable speeds. The magnitude and the scale of the big bang are beyond the comprehension of the human beings to visualize. Nothing that exists in the cosmos in energy form can be visualized by the help of the senses and the mind.

This explosion of the big bang results in creation of a new cosmos... a new beginning! After billions of years when some planets become suitable for giving birth to life... the souls start manifesting body after another. And a planet like Mother Earth is born.

Now... what is this big bang theory! The big bang occurs in what! As has been defined above... the definition of God is, "the sum total of all purified souls atmans in the cosmos at a given point of time is what we know as God Almighty".

This cluster of pure energy we know as God accumulates in its absolute pure state only when the dissolution of the Cosmos occurs in its entirety. It is as if a huge cauldron of fire... a massive black hole has reduced the whole of the Cosmos to the size of half a thumb. It is this stage when every single soul atman in the Cosmos in whatever stage of life it may be liberates after gaining enlightenment and salvation. There is just no escape for the collapse of the whole of Cosmos has occurred.

As has been expressed by Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism that souls atmans in whatever stage of life they may be... continue their journey into the next Cosmos exactly from the point where they stood in the earlier manifestation is totally wrong. This is where the teachings of Jainism are flawed.

Bhagavad Gita... the sacred doctrine of Lord Krishna distinctly clarifies this point. And it is logical that when the collapse of the entire cosmos occurs... the question of souls remaining in their position as such and transitioning into the next Cosmos after the big bang occurs is but a flawed parable that defies all reasoning and logic.

The point of difference where Mahavira went wrong in understanding the teachings of Bhagavad Gita! The reason why Jainism branched into a new thinking pattern as advocated and doctored by Bhagwan Mahavira (the 24th and last Tirthankara of Jainism) is evidenced here.

This cluster of pure energy... the sum total of all purified atmans in the Cosmos equals half the size of a thumb as has been clearly spelt out in the Bhagavad Gita... the most sacred doctrine put forward by Lord Krishna in the battlefield of Mahabharata.

Unable to contain itself for long... this enormous source of pure energy explodes with a big bang giving birth to a new cosmos... a new journey! God Almighty is the source and the cause of the big bang. This theory of creationism is unpalatable by Scientists all over the world. Why? Science demands proofs and in the kingdom of God... it is absolute faith (in the system of God) that rules.

To be able to visualize the system of God... the kingdom of God with the help of the senses and the mind is being hypothetical. It is just not possible! The prime reason why the kingdom of God and God Almighty himself is beyond the capture of all scientists of the world!

Albert Einstein was the only scientist in the world who tried studying Bhagavad Gita at the fag end of his life. He deeply regretted and resented not having ventured into the study of Bhagavad Gita in the earlier stages of his life. In a nutshell... the domain of God starts where science ends. This is in brief the definition of God Almighty!

If a grain of sand is an individual soul atman... the whole mound of sand is Parmatman (Almighty God). If a single block of the puzzle is an individual soul atman... the whole completed puzzle is God Almighty himself in its fully magnificence and cosmic glory. It seems to me that you have a lot to be thankful for. You are still alive through all these terrible things you have gone through. There are 2 ways to look at everything.

1 Why didn't God answer my prayers and take this away from me?

2 Thank God for giving you the strength to make it through all of these circumstances.

It seems to me that if God let you go through all of this, He has a very special purpose for you. The fact that you can keep faith through trials is not evidence that God does not exist, it is evidence that God has a plan.

Keep seeking God and you will find Him. Apparently He has a great plan for you because you already have an awesome testimony about the grace of God. You should be dead according to your story. I am most moved by people who go through trials much greater than mine and keep faith in God than those who had an easy life. The diffence is to use your experience for the glory of God.

Pray about it. I think He is ready to use this character he has formed in you.

God works in mysterious ways. Don't think that He is wrong because it is not how you thought it should have been.

God Bless.

My God wants you to be among the privileged. He is your creator. He is the King of kings. He wants you to be his so he can bless you tremendously. He has probably saved your life many times. I don't think it's just by chance that you are on this website asking questions. God says seek him and he will answer you.

You said you asked for help many times, but it never came. Maybe you didn't recognize some of the times God did help. Maybe he gave you strength to endure. People with stories like yours often have the best testimonies for other hurting people. Consider committing your life to Jesus Christ. It's the number one best decision you could ever make. I have a feeling he has plans for you and that he could use you to reach many people in mighty ways. No, God does not only help the privileged. And that's the truth.

God has been so good and faithful to me that I almost forgot to mention that I grew up with an alcoholic father. Not a day went by that he wasn't drunk. My mom always had to pay the bills because my dad couldn't keep a job. He cheated on her a lot. We moved around all the time. I went to at least 13 different schools, 3 different ones just in the 4th grade. I could tell you numerous other things that I don't want to say on here, but my life has been rough, too. But if it weren't for God, who knows where I'd be today...probably dead or in prison. I did not grow up in a privileged home. But I am now privileged to belong to Jesus Christ. You can do the same. I hope you do!!!

Edit: I am amazed. I read through the other answers here. Many of them basically say the same thing. I believe it's because many of us got our answer from the same source, God. He is already trying to talk to you, even through us, imperfect Christians. ;-)

Good things happen to bad people, bad things happend to good people. The sun shines on saint and sinner alike. Sometimes the blessing of beauty and affluence turns to arrogance and isolation. This life is a time of testing and trial. The task is not to wollow in sorrow, but ask, "What can I learn from this". Contrast cultivates appreciation, virtue and vice, pain and pleasure. Sorrow makes the joy that much sweeter.

first off, i just want to say i was raised in a similar atmosphere, although it wasn't a methlab. i won't list my upbringing but just know it wasn't perfect and i hate it when people try to make it out that they had a worse upbringing than me or anybody else. Although i am understanding of it as long as they don't blame God for there problems? Anyways, everybody has problems, not just you, if everybody God forbid was a burn victim we would just have to move past the way we look and look at a deeper meaning for life wouldn't we? i also understand anxiety and depression as it runs in my family and No God hasn't abandoned you. everything is a test of faith. and thats the answer i realize my answer is long hope this helps!

::Did i ever struggle for life from my own parents? YES i have. my stepdaddy was a cocaine addict. i don't need any pity from any body but he tried to kill my mother and brother at one point and if he had did so i probaly would have killed him.

god is imaginary, and as a fictional character, does not play any part whatsoever in your life. Some of the answers you will read will say "oh god loves you, we'll pray for you" but that is nonsense. As you can attest, god has no affect on your life at all.

There is hope, there are plenty of people who will help you, including doctors and other professionals who know what they are doing. Just don't expect a non-existent being to be of any help.

No.

God helps everybody, especially those who are not privileged or outcasts. He spoke to prostitutes and other people that others treated horribly. He reached out to one of the other people who was dying on another cross. (Definitely not privileged).

If no help came - were you believing for it or just hoping for it?

God does care for you and while there is no turning back the clock on the horrible things that have happened, God can help you to heal. You just need to believe. Have faith.

I asked my Jesus how to answer and this is what He said. He said to tell you that He truly Loves you and knows your pain. He will give you words of encouragement in the Bible in the Gospel of John. He will tell you there how to get Him inside yourself so that you can know His Love and feel His comfort. He will show you how to be in contact with Himself and Father God. Do not try to find Jesus in religion. He will send someone to you when you have understood what He expects of you. Jesus loves you and He will never forsake you. You are a child of the KING!
