In state of meditation one will stop to think, act, move & feel. Thus it is just like death but with life in his body. At this stage of mind he will go on searching one thing which is permanent & ultimate source in this universe.- to join that source. Meditating on God is Bad to energy of the body because meditator finally dies & reaches to the God like he assumed as him.But if it is done on the ultimate prana of the body is considered to be energy multiplyer. Thus normally it is priscribed that one should concentrate on meditating on universal ultimate of energy in the universe (some have thought it is the sun but he is also not the ultimate energy) where there is no end to meditator & giving so much of energy to live every living being here.

Due to meditation nobody loses weight, unless you do asanas also or eat less, due to your preoccupation with meditation. Losing weight is OK as long as you feel healthy and energetic. I suggest that you read the article in the following site, which among other things, says that there will be cholesterol reduction, as a result of meditation. Perhaps, that explains the loss of weight.
The relevant excerpts are..

Chronic sympathetic nervous system overactivity has been implicated as a factor capable of elevating and maintaining high serum cholesterol levels independent of dietary measures. Bagga et al. (1981) studied forty female medical students who practiced TM and yoga, and reported that their average serum cholesterol decreased from 196.3 mg/dl to 164.7 mg/dl. Cooper and Aygen (1979) measured serum cholesterol levels at the beginning and end of an eleven-month period for twelve hypercholesterolemic subjects who practised TM. Eleven hypercholesterolemic controls who did not practise the technique were similarly followed for thirteen months. Paired comparisons showed a significant reduction in fasting serum cholesterol levels for those subjects who practised meditation. The cholesterol mg per 100 ml for the meditation group was 254 at the start and 225 at the end of the period, and for the control group it was 259 at the start and 254 at the end of the period.

what type of meditation are you doing? some meditations- cleanse the energy body and can deplete energy. if you are doing a meditation that guides you through the chakras, if you go counterclockwise this is cleansing and needs to be followed by an energizing cycle- clockwise. you can switch from cleansing to energizing, in a rotation, but always end on an energizing cycle.

also could be known a kundalini syndrome. check out this link-

it explains what it could be as well
good luck!

That is a material type of meditation. Real meditation is on God and His holy Names. Chanting the Maha Mantra is the most recommended meditation for this age. It is the quickest way to get out of illusion and suffering and realize our constitutional position as spirit soul, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. go to krishnaculture. for complete details. Most other types of mediation are a wast of time and on the subtle material platform.

It is actually good for the health. It's good for our breathing and stress. I did it once for 20 minutes daily for 2-3 weeks... I got bored. :D

I'm too fidgety. But it was very nice. Serene even. I felt energized afterwards.

Hm... maybe I should take it up again. Have it be one of those "to-do" things for the new year. A promise to make on Dec. 31st.

I suggest working on your energy flows, what you allow in and out, ground yourself and allow yourself to cycle the energy from your element.

if your coming out of it with less energy, you are probably doing something wrong, you should be having more energy.
