he was in iraq and i havent hear from him in months and i dont have any contact with his friends or family and im trying to find out if he is ok

I hate to say it but if you are not immediate family you may not be able to find out anything about him. Especially if he is still on active duty and or still serving in Iraq.

How are you related to this soldier? If you are a friend, maybe you can check out his homepage. Or maybe ask other around.
If you're still not getting answers, you might wanna check out the casualties/injured page. I know that's a bit harsh, but if you find that he's not listed there then you'll know that he's safe, and that he probably just doesn't have access to the net for security reasons.

Has he returned home? Do you know what unit he was with over there? That is where I would start.
