i am a newby to computers and am looking for a good avi to dvd converter can anyone point me towards a good download site

My favourite one is VSO convertxtodvd http://www.vso-software.fr however is not free.
If your PC or DVD drive came with a copy of Nero you may have nerovision which is quite easy to use.

You must give www.winavi.com a chance. I`m quite new to this myself and just used their free trial for 30 days and was amazed how simple it was.
