To search for God is like searching for happiness. Only when one is unhappy or dissatisfied, one searches. This is a built-in biological need. We search for food, when we are hungry, for water when we are thirsty, for explanations, when we are ignorant. The question is: Will I be satisfied with what I find? When we are children we content ourselves with childish things, which we abandon when we grow up. The difference between a child and an adult is that the child is in the process of developing the critical faculty, the ability to reason. A child is more likely to believe in fairy tails than an adult, but some people never grow up. Their critical faculty is so damaged, they can never acquire full possession and use of their brains.

Do not accept explanations on faith. That’s for children. Accept only facts and non-contradictory logic, then you’ll know the truth. It is the truth that adults want, not fantasies, and it is the truth that will fully satisfy an intelligent, grown-up mind. There is no correlation between the “belief” in evolution and the belief in God. The theory of evolution is a fact, like the theorem of Pythagoras. Evolution explains scientifically why and how we got here. The belief in God explains nothing. But yes, to believe in anything doesn’t take much effort. To learn about how evolution works, how the universal law of natural selection operates and is responsible for producing all living organisms from the simplest to the most complex takes an inquisitive mind, some learning and the desire to expand our ability to reason.

He didn't get rid of your anxiety, YOU got rid of your anxiety.

I almost died too. Damn close. A long hospital stay and major surgery is what kept me alive. I didn't see or feel any god during all that.

Wth do you mean jewish people don't believe in god? They have the same god as Catholics. Do you mean jesus? Well, here's a surprise for you, jesus isn't god. Jesus is the SON of god.

You have some real problems. It's called learning to get your facts straight.

Atheists are atheists by default. It is not a position. We are all born with the lack of belief in a god. We are taught theism and most of us are indoctrinated to believe in our parent's religion and that religion's god as truth.

Some theists turn atheist. Why? Well, there are countless reasons. But first and foremost being that there is ZERO evidence for a god existing. And the probability is vanishingly small.

That's why people who don't believe in "God" don't believe. Not only that, but I can't believe in your god. I can go to church and pray and all that junk but that won't make me a believer any more than standing in a garage will make me a car.

That has been going on throughout the ages, man does not want to believe in anything it can't see or touch.
Something has be absolutley proven before they even consider believing in anything.
I also believe in God completely but I'm not Catholic.

I've already answered this & used it in a question. My mother was a devout Christian. Didn't drink or smoke. Only had one man her entire life. & died a painful death from breast cancer. I never heard an explanation for that, that I could accept. She didn't deserve that. People all over the world were praying for her.

Maybe some know the truth ,about the Anunaki ,who created slaves to mine gold for him.and who wasnt a god ,and maybe they dont like being mentaly controlled by the Anunakis descendents the Illuminati ,who only want the control of a slave race ,and having independent free people is the last thing on their Agenda.
or maybe they object to the SLAUGHTER OF MANY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TO SATISFY THE MAD CRAVINGS of a vengefull so called God

I suppose people find it hard to accept that there is somebody more powerful than them controlling their lives.

I agree, God does help. I just don't get how people can not believe in God when they see his amazing creation everyday....

Man made god in his image, not the other way around. The concept of god is entirely a product of mans imagination. But if it works for you to believe in mythology then go for it. Maybe you should pray to your god to help you with your spelling and grammar.

Not everyone has the same beliefs, needs, or wants as you. I could write a 20-page paper about this.
