I'm currently using Tidy Cat Scoop Crystal Blend. Has anyone found that any of the alternative litters (wheat, corn, newspaper, pine, etc.) work better? I don't want to spend the extra money if they don't. Have you found any that you don't like?

Feline Pine. The one I use is basically pure sawdust. It works just like the clumping litter but it's a lot cheaper. Only problem I'm having is that the sawdust particles are getting stuck in their paws and it's all over my rugs and it's hard to vacuum out. It controls the odor much better than regular kitty litter. They say it's flushable but I'd rather not risk it. Feline Pine also makes condensed sawdust pellets that break down when the cats pee on them and it soaks up the urine. I just bought a bag but haven't tried it yet.

*I'm looking into buying bulk sawdust, the kind people use for gerbils, etc.. I'm sure it's much cheaper than a bag of sawdust with special packaging for cats.

The only kitty litter I really hate is the cheap clay kind. It creates powder/dust clouds that coats everything I have near the litter box. It's also bad for the cats to breathe in that powder. The worst one with that is Hartz pH5 non-clumping litter. It's one of the cheapest ones and I used it for years but I try not to anymore.

I get this clumping cat litter from superpetz, not sure they name but its in the middle of the store and you scoop it yourself. It works really well and its $10 for 30 lbs. I personally don't like Tidy Cat its way too strong for me.

I use feline pine, and have for 7 years. It lasts a long time and almost completely absorbs the smell. It claims to be completely nature friendly, and you can use it as fertilizer in your garden - don't unless you want every stray cat from your neighborhood in your yard. It also doesn't hurt as bad as clay litter when you step on it.

We use Swheat Scoop and it is great! It smells a little like bread dough when kitty pees. It also clumps really well and is flushable.

I have used Cedar Lite in the past and I LOVED it, but it was too hard to find.

I hate anything that clumps, as I find it sets like cement and then you really have to scrape the tray to get rid of the wet bits, gross. Now I use wood pellets, the brand is Beauticat and I like it as it's so economical and eco friendly as well. It's not too expensive either, less than £5 a bag.

Swheat scoop. It is made of wheat, helps hide oder better, clumps well and won't accumulate in kitty's tummy or toilet!!

Back when I had cats, I trained them to use the toilet. Nothing is easier to clean up and it never smells!

I use a wood based litter. It absorbs moisture really well.
