like in those MOPS groups ladys go to find costumers, instead dedicate their energy on the real job of beeing a son of God, or those festivals where they sale food and bring clawns to the same place where they preach... I think is not right... what do you think...

They also have McDonalds and Subways in some. If Jesus was walking the earth today he would be knocking over the tables and chewing them out for turning it into a den of thieves.

I think you are confusing "fund raising" with operating a business. If a church wants to raise money for a homeless shelter & have a bake sale to help raise the funds, that is a noble deed.

Of course, the true issue is, where is the money going. Many times those fund raisers are for chior robes. I have a hard time with that because I grew up in a church with out a chior & these people feel the need to spend over a hundred dollars for EACH robe?! You have a chior of 30 people & 3 different sets of robes so they don't wear the same robe every week! That is around $10,000 that could be going to the needy instead of feeding vanity!

If you are talking about "bake sales" they do that to raise money for homeless people or hungry children or mission trips. They use it to support youth trips. They use it for good reasons.

They bring clowns in to bring people in. Unfortunately for most people the truth that God Almighty sent His own Son to die for us is not enough to get us to church. It takes something silly and tangible like a clown. How sad really, when you stop and think about it.

Regardless, if it gets people in that's what's important. The Word of God is being offered and that's what churches are supposed to do. Reach the lost. If the lost are enticed by clowns, we need to bring out the clowns!

It is absolutely not right.
But we need to take it as a sign of our churches going (gone) away from spirituality. In my view religion is the main obstacle between us and God. If God is the creator and we are His creations, then our relation ship is father and child. As long as the child keeps a clear conscience, he can go to his father without fear or the help of a middle person. Here what we need to remember is that our father is a person who can see through us, just like a piece of crystal. Even an unclean thought is a particle of dirt.

Those who can keep that undefiled relationship with God as his/her father is a true child of God. For this life, you don't need anyone else in your life. You will enjoy a true spiritual life.

I think it depends on why it is being done. My church has had bake sales and such in order to fund youth trips and other outreaches to the community. I dont see anything wrong with it as long as the money is being used for that God has called the church to be a part of.

What church is this? Sounds like a circus church the kind with a tent, if you know what I mean

Jesus is the truth, the way and the life.

Sorry to say that really Jesus dedicated churches are harder to find these days. Religion has become big business. That is why people should work harder to be good Christians.

Church is a business; but instead of getting paid to go to work you have to pay. I was in church once and a preacher said there was not enough money in the plate and passed it around twice.

I don't think its right and to me I think Church is about profit, not worship, I am a Christian and I have been raised in Church all my life, but I am a non church goer, I let my son go his own free will, But, I refuse to go, because in all of my experience with churches I have found there are a lot of hypocrites and church is about profit and not worship.
