I would like to know what is the average price of a companion and show quality standard schnauzer from a show breeder in the eastern states

In the midwest, it is about $1000, but I am not sure what it is in the eastern states. I would try looking on puppyfind.com, puppydogweb.com, and breedersclub.net.

You could probably find an adult in a rescue for a low adoption fee. Show quality dogs of any breed usually run between $1,000-$3,000.

It would be around $1300 for pet quality and around $2600 for show quality.
I'm from AUS so I am taking AUD prices and roughly estimating how much it would be in USD.
