My iPod just simply stops working suddenly. And i found out that when I plugged in my iPod to my comp, all the folders are gone. And I also found out that all the folders attribute are changed into Protected System File Folders, and so my iPod cant read it, and I cant change it back to normal attribute. It is possibly because I plugged my iPod into another comp that is full of viruses. HELP!!!!!

You can bring your iPod into any Apple store to have them look at it. But, if you have the iTunes latest update, you can unlock the files yourself. There is a check box at the bottom of the page that comes up. This unlocks and locks the folders. A friend of mine had that happen to her too. She got it to unlock and read her iPod by doing that. There are various tabs on the page when you plug into the computer. Viruses could be there, but I doubt it. The virus would have to be written too specifically to the iPod, not just a random virus. Also, you should not connect to other computers. You need to be on "manual" mode to connect to another person's computer...otherwise the iPod is trying to sync to that machine and wipes out your data. You need to check your preferences once you are in iTunes on your machine. You need to wipe out the data on the iPod. That is an option in iTunes as well...go back to original setting of iPod. Good luck!

What's new. I love apple and ipods. But in terms of how long ipods last... the suck...terribly.

Hopefully you have a warantee. Or your gonna pay for it from your pocket.

maybe one of the files you have downloaded had a virus attached..this could happen if you use mopheus or another place where file sharing is used.
